Fanny Packs

On a recent amusement park trip I used a running pack ---fancy name for a fanny pack but very slim and fit under my shirt I was wearing...just held money, credit card and phone. No room for anything else. I'd never wear a big fanny pack or crocs BUT know that is what some people do for comfort. It's vacation and I wouldn't worry about it. Last Disney trip first trip without a purse...made hubby and sons carry my stuff in their cargo shorts pockets since I'd been the pack mule for years!

We used to call it a money belt.

According to some self-proclaimed fashionistas, you guys are hopelessly out of date.

Thanks. I'll stick with my out of date cargo shorts. Any male who would even consider wearing the alternatives cut off his gonads a long time ago.

OK, how's this for bizarre?

My 16 year old daughter is a big PINK shopper. (FYI, PINK is a Victoria's Secret brand, a small section of their shops particularly geared towards teens. Lots of shirts, shorts, backpacks, all incredibly pricey and cool.)

As a gift, she was recently given a PINK fanny pack.

She's going to return it; she swears she wouldn't be caught dead in any fanny pack, even a PINK one. But the fact remains that PINK MAKES a fanny pack!!!

When I went to DL last year I saw a lot of young girls with fanny packs. I was stunned and sent a text to my sister that she actually could be on the verge of "cool."

I know! :faint: Wouldn't have believed it either if I didn't see it with my own eyes.

Woo hoo, I haven't worn my fanny pack in years but if they are retro trendy I would love to use it for this year's trip. I had switched to a bagallini crossbody bag but the fanny pack is really the most comfortable thing ever.

I use one in Disney, and I'm using it now on our Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Smokey Mts trip. I have tried to "look attractive" with a cross body bag. No matter how I wear it, I end up feeling choked or annoyed by the pressure on my shoulder. So, I reverted back to the fanny pack. Mine is just like the one photo posted earlier. Light green with grey trim. One large pocket and a super small second pocket. It's secure. Easy to access on the move. Slides to the back with the strap under my shirt for photos. Mine is big enough to hold a wallet, large phone, plus a few small items like Tylenol or chapstick or sunglasses. I love it, and honestly don't care anymore what anyone else thinks.

No. Hated them in the 80s, still hate them today.

I use a very lightweight backsack. Everything inside of it is in a gallon zip lock in case of rain. It's so light and out of the way, I forget I have it most days..

I have a Disney one I got years ago and use it every time I'm in a park, Disney or not. I love it and will not be toting anything or wearing a backpack. I already have back issues so that's the easiest for me personally. DD isn't fond of me wearing it but I do it anyway. lol

I say go for it! :thumbsup2
