I manage to drag myself from the comfiest of comy beds, helped by the fact that Ian has the coffee on, they have the cutest little coffee machine in the room, it is Wolfgang Puck design and comes with Wolfgang Puck coffee which smells and tastes delicious, I confess I was tempted to half inch it for my own, but fought the urge ...

We head down to get the 8.30 shuttle to Universal, and again the bus is spot on time, I should add that the hotel is near enough to walk, but we are either lazy or at night drunk, so we prefer to get the bus ...

We arrive at Universal and we are both quite excited, it is at least six years since we have been to Universal or IOA, we hop aboard that moving walkway doo dah, our first ride of the day, wayhay ..

We present our passes (we prepurchased from Attraction Tickets Direct - great service, with real tickets) and we are away to go. We have to get maps which is a novelty, you see it doesn't take much with either of us.

The park is dead, dead, dead, it is so quiet, we head straight for Men In Black and it takes us longer to figure out how the locker works than to get on the ride, we shoot some aliens and then its onto Jaws again with no wait, stopping along the way to take the piccie of Ian with a spaceship I love these trick photo thingies and Ian humours me.

No wait for ET, we are tempted to give silly names but resist, Ian still gets up being called Yan, "thanks Yan", which gives us a titter.

We manage to fit in Terminator which is still great and Animal Actors on Location before we decide a spot of lunch is in order. We decide on Finnegans Bar and Grill, a great choice, Ian gets a guinness and I have some sort of cocktail, I think it may have been a Rita, you have to stick with tradition. They bring us some nice soda bread and some vile apple butter which strangely Ian likes. Ian has the mixed grill and I have chicken in a pepper sauce both of which are scrummy yummy.

After lunch it's onto Shrek, which we both really enjoyed, and afterwards we meet with Shrek, Fiona and Donkey, at some point during the day we also bumped into Woody Woodpecker.

We wander over to where the win a prize place is near Jaws, and Ian beats a small American boy at a watergame and wins me a gingerbread man, I feel suitably guilty and consider giving my gingerbread to the child but then reconsider and we christen him Yan, Yan the Gingerbread man.

Liquid refreshment is needed so we stop near the mummy for a wine and beer, I use the excuse that I have to have something to give me the braveness to ride the Mummy, I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to new rides, so I send Ian in to check it out first while I sit on the pavement and have a chat with a strange person with a squeaky voice about football (he was one of the characters from the parade), he decided to sit with me and it cracked me up that he kept the squeaky voice up for at least ten minutes (imagine Mickey Mouse on helium) .... Ian arrives back and convinces me that I will be fine on the Mummy, I am so glad because I loved, loved, loved it.

We go back into the bar part of Finnigans and order the beer flight which is an assortment of mini beers, and is very good, which facinates an American couple and we discuss the different beers with them, there is a really good singer and we join in for a spot of Margaritaville, salt, salt, salt and Brown Eyed Girl, we spend a good three quarters of an hour singing along before its time for the Macys parade.

Brilliant parade, lots of huge balloons, with park goers carrying them, we both thought it was great, they were shooting streamers and confetti out of machines on the rooftops and it was really well done.

Time to call it a day, but not before a bit of shopping, we get some fridge magnets, and other souvies, and Ians best purchase of the holiday, or so he says, a pair of *********** canvas shorts, he seems delightedly delighted with them, and if he's happy I am, so a good purchase.

We have a nice relax at the room with a couple of beers, and then head to The Orlando Ale House which is just next door, this is a huge place and very good. We order a pitcher of bud, we share the Ale House combo, Ian has the Cajun Chicken Pasta and I have the New York Strip, all very tasty, they have some sort of spinach and cheese dip with the combo and that was fab.
We are both much too full for pudding so we head back to the DoubleTree and the comfiest of comfy beds.
