Famous People You have met While at WDW

We saw the actress who played "Blair" on the Facts of Life and her family once.

Was she smacking her kids around at the time?

We ran into Steven Tyler at the Boardwalk. We were leaving the concierge and in the hallway he was leaving with his family. We did get a picture of him with the girls. Have to find that one!! It was the week of New Years in 2001. We also saw him in the elevator returning to his suite.

My husband saw Scottie Pippen in Seashore Sweets on the Boardwalk. The same trip he also saw Sinbad at the BW valet parking area. This was in January 2005. In 8 trips to WDW, they are the only celebrities that we spotted.

We had a celebrity sighting last Saturday 2/4/06 at Disneyland. We're walking past POTC, and DH says, "There's Kirstie Alley!" Then I look over and say, "Hey, that IS Kirstie Alley!" Then my DH had to make a comment: "Looks like she's still stuffing her face!" Because she was eating a churro. Mean! To her defense, she is actually pretty slim now, even thinner than she was when she did the recent Jenny Craig commercials. So it was kind of fun to finally see a celebrity at Disneyland.

i was wondering how she'd looked lately! she looks amazing in the new JC commercials!

My DD met Gary Sinise on our Christmas '04 trip.

He was very gracious and talked with my DD about her NHS project that was raising money for Operation Iraqi Children, a charity that Gary is very involved in and that he had mentioned during his narration of the CP.

He even signed her CP program.

Now this would be the perfect example why my wife hopes I we never meet a celeb. I couldn't help but ask him why he's doing CSI:NY after making so many movies and offer my opinions on what he should be doing instead.

DW is a real Brit in the sense she would pretend not to notice if someone was famous, but I would speak to them if I liked them.

It happened with Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings, Ronin, Patriot Games) when he was waiting for his daughter (?) while she went to the toilet at London Zoo. I spoke to him for a few minutes and said I liked LOTR, but wasn't a fan of Sharpe (TV series he made) and rubbished the football team he is a board member of. I can be a bit Larry David at times. :(

In 1993 I was part of Disney's Easter parade. I belonged to a group of 50 girls from Mobile, AL called Mobile Azalea Trail Maids. We all wore big pastel dresses and Disney invited us for many years (different group of girls every year). The hosts of the parade my years was Regis Philbin and Joan London. We were taping the closing of the parade and they both stood in front of me. Joan London was not very friendly and Regis was great. If they were in between shots, he was turned around asking us all kinds of questions. Joey Lawrence was also there. Of course all of us 18 year old went nuts to see him! (Cut me some slack, it was the early 90s!!)

oh my dear lord...I just realized this thread is now offcially over a year old
Keep the celebrity stories commin'! :thumbsup2

We met Senator John Kerry at the Beach Club in May 2004. We were coming back from a late evening stroll after dinner in Epcot at around 10:30 PM and noticed two men in business suits checking in at the front desk. Both of them had very much a business demeanor, which seemed unusual, so we decided to sit in the lobby for a few minutes to see what happened. When the front desk cleared, I asked one of the CMs which celebrity would be checking in, and was told that they could not say! His response affirmed our suspicion that someone famous would indeed be arriving. A couple of minutes later, I asked one of the maintenance guys if he knew who the celebrity was and he said "Jim Carrey, you know from 'The Mask'". Being fans of Jim Carrey, dh and I both agreed that it was worth trying to catch a glimpse of him and he was probably used to annoying and adoring fans anyway. Having been to the Beach Club SO many times, we figured Mr. Carrey would probably come in to the building closer to the villas, and since we were staying in the villas anyway, we started strolling toward Ariel's Courtyard. Well, along the way we noticed that the men in suits were putting in communications earpieces and we began to suspect that it was not going to be Jim Carrey, but someone of a more political nature. Our suspicions were confirmed when we got to the gazebo and began speaking with a gentleman from the Secret Service who told us the VIP was John Kerrey, not Jim Carrey! We were disappointed, but this Secret Service gentleman was so down to earth and interesting to talk with (having served as far back as the Nixon administration) that we decided to chat with him for a few minutes. Then one of Kerry's handlers arrived and a few minutes later Kerry himself, who although tired, made the effort to shake hands and small talk for a couple of minutes before being whisked off.

And that was our brush with fame at the Beach Club!

It's so funny I was just reading this thread yesterday and my DH comes home lastnight from a business trip and tells me that Anthony Edwards (former Dr. Mark Green from ER) was two rows in front of him on the plane coming into Boston!!!! I was SO jealous!! I know it wasn't at WDW but I thought it was worth sharing! :cool1:

Hello Mobilian. My cousin is an azalea trail maid this yr. and is going to be in the parade. I'm so excited for her. They didn't do the Macy's parade over Thanksgiving and I don't think she has been to WDW.
Have Fun!

We were walking into Epcot IG last Sat evening for dinner (3/4) when DH noticed Jerry Rice (SF football player and Dancing w/ Stars) walking alone right behind us. DH turned and said "Hi, are you Jerry Rice?", he replied that he was... then we saw the massive Superbowl ring on a gold chain @ his neck). I asked if he was at Disney for the ESPN weekend at MGM. He chatted a few minutes about that, he asked if we were having a good time and how long had we been there so far. Then he said he was lost, had to get to a dinner event at the Yacht Club steakhouse. Well he was headed into Epcot so we turned him around and pointed out where to go. He was very personable and friendly. We did not ask for an autograph or photo as it seemed sort of tacky, we enjoyed talking to him and seeing that he is just a nice guy.

:goodvibes

Sorry to be slightly off topic but, in december last year my family went to the LAX airport to pick up my sister coming back from spending a semester of bible college in Spain and there was this girl next to us and we striked up a conversation it turns out she knew my sister.
ANYWAYS BACK TO THE POINT!
We were checking out the people holding the name signs and we see two very familiar and unmistakable names....and sure enough we see Cuba Gooding, Jr AND Nick Lachay (sp?) but omg that girl was like FREAKING out! She took a picture of him on her cell phone and then called her friend and realized she didnt' save it.....i felt bad for her :lmao: funny how ppl react around celebrity.

Hahaha, that's okay. I have been known to take a "bird walk" or two, or three, or four.....

I would be so happy to meet Nick Lachey. What a guy! That stinks that the picture got deleted. Oh, and I am one of those people that go crazy when they meet a celeb. Like crazy crazy. I cried and fell on Kelly Ripa when I met her. I think she felt bad for me/scared of me :rotfl2:

An ex-boyfriend of mine has a cousin who is a ringer for Anthony edwards. Not just looks like him, his TWIN. I went to his wedding and could not stop staring. It is really eerie. :)

On Wednesday we went on Soarin and were told that the front row was reserved for VIPs. I assumed that it was for baseball players that were there for the World Baseball Classic. We were in the third row. They weren't baseball players. I walked out of Soarin right behind Eli and Peyton Manning. My husband informed me that there were other players there, but I forgot who. I recognized the Manning brothers because my FIL is obsessed with Peyton. He is a huge Colts fan. He was so jealous when I told him who walked out in front of me.
