Family tees: Yes or no

Thanks for the tips on the creative boards. I had never seen that board before. Great ideas on the tie dye, etc.

I figure I would get my kids to do it while they are still 10 and under;)

Also, thanks *real* buffy, it has been my nickname for as long as I remember.

We do the matching shirt thing. We always have one "different" one--we usually have something crazy that we do on our trip, and we make a shirt for that (our group is me, DH, our friends, and their DS & DD). If we don't do matching shirts, we do "coordinating" themes--everyone wears a shirt with their favorite character on it one day, favorite ride the next, etc.

I love it because I know how to find everyone! ;)

Product of the 70's???? LOL
Mine is a nickname too but I don't answer to my given name, I think people are talking to someone else. So for all intents and purposes that is my real name.

We bought matching shirts on one trip for the next trip Dsd was going to be with us. She also requested at the Disney Store we all get inredibles shirts and then I made ones in different colors with our names and characters on it. I think those got the most attention. Oh DId I mentioned DsD is 11 and was totally into this.... althuogh she did keep complained DH and I got her shirts in sizes too big. We didn't the girl doesn't understnad shoulders LOL. Anyway go for it you'll get lots of commetns and photos do look cute.

DH would veto that so fast you wouldn't even know that it had been suggested! :rotfl: You know, as asians we run the risk of being mistaken for overseas tourists...especially since we are taking the "big" camera this time! :rotfl2:

We always match for each day of our 7-9 day trips.

We've got about 10 sets of matching Disney t-shirts & sweatshirts in all.
We always wear black or navy blue shorts with them too.

I see that SIOH has already posted....but I wanted to chime in. We travel a lot with Stitch and her DH and we always coordinate or at least have a theme. You get a lot better pictures that way! And it is always easy to find the rest of your party when you split up.

What I haven't seen mentioned a lot here is the attention you get from park staff. If you're like us, and you like that sort of thing, matching shirts are wonderful. I remember a few years ago when the six of us all wore Incredibles shirts to MGM. We would be walking down the street and cast members would stop and yell, "look, it's the Incredibles!". During the parade, characters kept coming up to us. It was so much fun!

My favorite of the shirts we have had made are in the pictures below. This was the day last June when we did all four parks in one day, riding the fastest ride in each park and then moving on. It was the Four Park Fast Ride Extravaganza! Or FoPaFaRE, for short! And I have to give props, SIOH had these made!

We got one from Disneyshopping for our trip last month. While we were not the only ones in the park with those shirts on, it still looked nice for photos with our group of 11.

We did one from Disneyshopping too. My whole family went. 13 of us all together. There were 4 families within our group so each family got a different color but the same logo on all. It made our group photos so much fun. We had compliments all day!!

Our last trip in Oct 2005 I did matching tee's for our first day - "Its my 8th birthday and I'm takin' on the World" for Ds who was turing 8 and for his 2yr old brother it was "It's my brothers 8th birthday and we're takin' on the world" they were white with a really cute design that someone said I could "lift" from the t-shirt board

I also did the boys in either matching or coordinating outfits. Most days I matched too. Dh didnt want anything to do with the matchy stuff. But when he looks back on the pictures he realized that he looks out of place because he was wearing green on the red day lol.

The last day noone matched at all and I had the hardest time keeping track of the boys.:lmao:

I would definately coordinate again for any future vacation. My oldest is getting too old (he said it not me) to match but he will do the same color if mom insists.

we do this too!
We have worn matching disney shirts - bought at the disney store. Both I've seen posted here - This is our experience with them:
*we wore the navy blue tees w/ red white and blue mickey -
that day we ate lunch at wcc and had to do some pretty funny 'stuff'. We had to stand up and and sway our bodies while the customers all sang the star spangled banner!
*we all wore the incredibles tees and we did get a lot of attention, pointing, oooh "there's the incredibles"
later, that day my sister-in-law who works at AK was explaining how the cast members smile and wave and chat it up but really they later make fun of us !!!

okay, even if that's true, did she really have to tell me?
(It won't stop us !!)

We wore matching tshirts to LTT and MVMCP, and it was a lot of fun matching. I think it made us more silly and we definitely had a great time.
We also bought the disney logo shirts from disneyshopping in a variety of colors to wear another day.

We had matching/coordinating t-shirts for our August 2006 trip. Here are a few of the designs.

For one of our MK days we all wore the same:

This was an Epcot shirt. All the designs are the same (except for the name).

Three of us wore these on an MGM day. Dh had an old Disney/MGM shirt that he wore and my oldest ds wore the Abbey road/Mickey inspired design below.

These were the Animal Kingdom shirts. Dh and I had dark green and dd and younger ds had the light green. My oldest ds wore the Abbey road/AK inspired design on the dark green.

These were for the Family Magic Tour.
IMG_6078.jpg

These were for Chef Mickey's.

These were for dd's birthday. She wore the Pooh gang shirt for our CP breakfast and changed into the Princess shirt for our CRT dinner.

We had Mickey tie-dye and several other designs, too. It's kind of dorky but lots of fun.
