going x-mas week. Been to onsite resorts tons of times but never at a value. We can work the budget (we did POR already in April this year) if we go and stay at a value .. Disney has it on their site for 4 people AND food pan for only $2.9k. Super deal

I am leaning towards All star movies. Wife says PoP Century is better. Kids are only 9 and 7,

We will use the food court and we be in the pools a ton. We dislike huge bus lines also. One reason why POR was nice, but had issue with buses

So what ya all think is best value based on our needs?

Personally I would get a family suite at ASMu because the standard rooms are just so small. Now, I know that they cost more, but they really have more amenities such as two bathrooms, seperate bedroom and living room (with pull-out sofa and chair), a refridgerator, etc. It is your money, and you can spend it however you see fit, but that is just my opinion.

PS: I have no clue why my spell check is not working. :confused3:

Will you have a car? We stayed at ASMu in May and the lines were ALWAYS long and the busses OVER full. That is the second stop for the busses- sports first , music second, movies last.

I would really say let your kids pick! The all stars are pretty much the same- with different theming. Show your kids the pictures on-line and let them pick which one appeals most to them. They will be excited that they had a say and will be really looking forward to the hotel. Just a suggestion:thumbsup2

The reason you are worried about the bus at any of the values is the reason I don't like them. I love POFQ, its the smallest mod and also has its own bus stop at MK in the evening.

POP for sure!!!! Decent bus service as bus service goes. Fun atmosphere, good food!!!!

Christmas week? Lines will be long, busses will be full, parks will be very crowded! Just be prepared to be patient!

All Star Movies. The bus queues between pop and all stars from what Ive seen tend to work out fairly evenly. I think the key is that in general pop has slightly fewer people, but as allstars get split into resorts in MK when its busy, it evens out. Even though busses tend to load sports first, I didnt think the waits were any shorter there than at movies. They must do something clever to even it out.

Therefore, pick based on the theming. If your kids are particularly into sports, or music, or bowling or something, one of the others might meet your themeing requirements better. In general though, ASMo is much more Disney themed than the others, so always gets my vote.

When we were there last, the bus at POP only stopped at POP. The All Stars had to stop at all three all stars. That made the buses more crowded, at least that is the way I felt.

all the value resorts are going to be crowded in the morning rush hours - 7:30 to 9:30 am. so will be the food court.

there are a bunch of people at the values.

I might pick All Star Sports or Music simply because they are latest to have a rehab. they are working on Sports now - so if you trip is later like in Nov - it might be good.

although I really preferred the swimming pools at Pop. Love the food court. Love the lake view that only Pop has....

I think I agreed with your wife.

in the morning the bus lines will look and are long - but don't worry - they move fast.

Pop has some of the best bus service of any of the resorts. If you have any complaints don't hesitate to call transportation/controller. They can't fix a problem they don't know about. Of course my opinion, the controller, are the problem with the buses.

when you get back definitely write to WDW if you have any problems.

All-Star Movies is my favoarite value, I like the design especially the Fantasia area, b/c Fantasia is my all-time favorite Disney movie. :woohoo:. My only complaint was the buses b/c they stop at all 3 so it takes alot longer to get back to your resort and to the parks.

Bus lines will be long at all 4 but All Stars will be less the Pop (due to size) I'd say Movies or Sports, unless you want the suite (which is the cost of 2 rooms) and those are at Music.

The buses at CBR were much better than at ASMo. DH said he would have paid the extra 400.00 it costs to stay at CBR over a value for just the bus service alone!

A few things to know about Pop. There are more rooms than at All-Stars because Pop has a 4th floor and All-Stars only has 3 floors. I know that people have the preception that All-Stars has bad bus service but I think differently. Sure Pop might only stops once but All-Stars doesn't use just 1 bus. Buses are constantly coming and going. I don't think we've ever waited more than 10 or 15 mins for a bus, and we have always gotten on to travel to a park. Now in the evening at park closing its different you might have to wait for a 2nd or 3rd bus but they will not be sharing. If you are staying at ASMo they will only stop at ASMo. 3 months after Pop opened we were there President's day weekend. We had to wait 4 buses til we were able to board to go to MK. It took about 45 mins. We love ASsports, its the first resort you come to when staying at All-Stars and the first stop when you do have to share a bus. Plus since Movies and Pop are so popular its a lot quieter. Go over the pics and the menus for each resort to help you and your faily decide. Good Luck and have fun! allearsnet is a great site to go to, just put the .com at the end.
