Fall Promotion to be released...

I dont know about Aug/Sept, but I am planning a trip of Oct 15 - 24, week after Columbus Day. The Contemporary is completely booked except a suite at Atrium level and the Yacht Club is entirely booked for their cheaper rooms (more expensive ones are available). My 3rd choice was the Poly and I got to reserve a garden room. I think AKL only had Savannah View left too.

I am almost thinking of changing dates because I think they will be very crowded.

With so many people making "pre" reservations :

So many people on a Disney planning board. We are planners. I would say the majority of guests wait until they see a deal or a few months prior to wanting to go before they even book. However, the majority of disers are probably booked way in advance.

posting to sub.. however... I'm hoping that they offer the same discount/offer they have the past two years in a row according to the MouseSavers.com Historical site... (package deal for general public-7 nights for price of 4 or 7 nights for price of 5) We are going in February of 2011, and that offer would be an AWESOME offer for us, since they don't offer the free DP in February. It would mean we can either extend our stay from the original 11d/10n to a 15d/14n stay (paying the same price, maybe a tad more because of DP and possible room rate changes... OR save some money and keep the 11d/10n, because we would only be paying for 7 nights and getting 3 free, or pay for 8 nights with 2 free. Either way it would save us a nice penny... three families.. total of 13 going.

There will likely be a Feb 2011 discount code, but not for awhile yet. They haven't even gotten to mid August 2010 yet. ;)

I agree!

Normally, I would have booked already. The reason I have not is because I was hoping to keep the number of calls to a minimum. I hoped I could book with some sort of discount (call #1) and then for dining (call #2). If no specials come available by 3/31/10, then I'll call to book, call to dine, and call a 3rd time to add the discount code when (if) it does come available.

I guess I could book my reservation and dining online, but I'm old fashioned. I actually like to talk to a real person.:goodvibes

Still waiting I think they just like to see us squirn

I can FINALLY book my ADR's tomorrow but have never used the online system yet. I live in CST and am wondering what time the WDW system gets updated? Midnight tonight or 5am tomorrow?? Thanks :thumbsup2

My window opened on Valentines day and it opened at exactly 6AM online. I know because I kept refreshing for about an hour. LOL

Oh, online booking is wonderful!!!! And I do think that it is just a matter of time before that will be the only way to book possibly.

6am Eastern time...sometimes a few minutes before. I started booking mine online at 5:58am EST.:surfweb: GL!!!!:cheer2:

WOOHOO!!! Thanks for the info. I really thought that I would just stay up ALL night and keep refreshing the page. I don't want to miss getting the ressies we want. Now I can TRY and get some sleep.:banana::banana:

Hoping for something big, my DH says we can go this Fall if it's free dining!
I'm DV too.
By the way, this is my first post on the boards. I'm finally brave enough :)

:welcome::disrocks:. Next time to wait so long to post!!! We won't bite, I promise!!!:rotfl:, But don't forget your "flame retardant suit!!!!;)

Probably not. As long as you can book your ressies via phone, you'll likely be able to always do your ADRs by phone as well. Not everyone has internet access. But I do agree that online booking is wonderful. It was so nice to be able to check everything I needed and go back and forth between days checking times without hogging up a CM on the phone.

Where is the best place to look or watch for FD? the Disney web site or others? Who will know first?

Hoping to go in sept. Or Oct. If FD is offered!!!!!

:welcome: Dayday!

Well you can keep an eye on this forum...guarantee there will be plenty of us obsessively checking. :surfweb:
Also, mousesavers.com and allears.net are good at staying on top of these things. The Disney site is good to check, however they don't always immediately post a new promotion even if it's available. That's not to say that it won't be posted that same day, just not necessarily the second the clock ticks over. I usually just stick with this forum.

Yeah, I'd keep looking over here! DIS rocks!!! If there is an offer out, you will probably find it here.:cool1:

:surfweb: I am here waiting on the update as well. We already have the CBR reserved for 8 nights, 9/26-10/4, using a PIN code for 30% off the room rate. Hope one of these deals will provide a better deal. I will be up until atleast 7-8am EST, so if I see something I will post it here. :rolleyes1

Historically the Powers that Be here on the Disboards are given some advantage warning about FD. I know the last few years they have always given us a heads up on the offer. It may have only been 24 hours advance warning, but it enough for me to know when to wake up at 4am!

I still think we are a bit early. I'm betting the FD goes public on April 1st.

It will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings. I read that the cruise lines were actually starting to raise prices again.
I would love to get a peek at the WDW occupancy rates for the fall.
With so many people making "pre" reservations so they can get the ADRs - it may not look so bad.
(I know this has all been said before) Just typing to fill the time while I do laundry and wait for the rates. :laundy:

This poor horse has been beaten to death (especially by me!) on these boards.

:)

In summary - if you plan on going NO MATTER WHAT, even if that means free dining isn't offered.. then by all means make a booking.

BUT ... if the only way you intend to go is WITH free dining.. it is in your own best interest and that of EVERYONE ELSE wanting to go during the F/D dining promo (if offered).. to NOT book now.

Why? Because the FREE DINING room inventory is NOT the same as whatever you might book today. And the FD room inventory is set in part - against what IS booked now.

So if everyone has prebooked the top resorts ... those will have very limited F/D inventory. As we saw with Pop Century in 2008 and 2009.

Before anyone says anything -- I know.. I know.. I'm wasting precious air. :thumbsup2

People will do what people will do. People like to think that having a reservation now guarantees them something.

With the separate room inventories.. it guarantees you nothing.

In fact, if you WANTED to book something.. a bunch of people should get together and book your least favorite resort which would decrease the F/D inventory there .. vs. at each of your personal favorites.

That's just Evil-Moderator talking -- I don't recommend that. pirate:

Ok--I just got off the phone with Disney. I was told that Disney never releases their deals on the weekend (which is when the current offers are set to expire). She told me to check Disney's website first thing tomorrow or first thing Monday morning. Of course, she did not indicate if or what the promo would be but if they were to release something new for the fall, it would be tomorrow or Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's FD!!! She said that normally they've already heard something by now, but not this time.

Absolutely nothing negative about the poster here..

But clearly some of the CM's on the phones have been taking classes with the bus drivers and boat captains in the "Making the Magic UP" category.. :)
