Fall/Fall Advantage 2008

May will be here before you know it! At least your not waiting until August. I still have to go through another quarter and summer school before I go! Ahhh! So far away!

I have an appointment with my counseler on Tuesday, to talk about what I can do to keep up at school. My college only offers four credits as a reward for the CP and I usually take 12-15 credits each semester and I really don't wanna go to summer classes, I want to spend all summer with my bf before I leave.

When you submit your acceptance it asks you for your name for your name tag. Are you allowed to put a nickname like Sam or do I have to put samantha? I always go by sam and thats what I always put on my name tags, but I was curious as to what their views on nicknames are.

Yes, you can use an apropriate nickname. Whatever is on your nametag you must answer to though. So choose wisely :-)

It was always fun when people forgot their nametags in Africa Ops because we had a bag of lost/incorrect tags in the office. You'd have guests saying, "OMG, Rosalita! You're from (insert town here)! I live 15 minutes from there...have you ever been to (insert other town)." To which my very blonde, very non-hispanic friend from the opposite side of the country--who had no clue what the guest was talking about--would respond, "Oh yeah? My mom grew up there!' Haha...

Oh wow...there I am crushing dreams. This isn't a normal incident at the parks, but several people picked up nicknames based on the back-up tags they chose to where.

This was a long post, but I'm just illustrating whatever tag you wear, is what you must own up to :-) Use the name you'll like to answer to. I used my name instead of the name most people called me, so my friends from work all called me Danielle and my other friends, roommates, etc. called me Nell. It really confused people in our peer group who didn't make the connection right away... I won't make that decision again when I go back in Nov.

I heard this from a friend, too, about the 'substitute nametags'. He was there on vacation and 'fell for' a girl working at the parks. He went daily to 'see' her. She had a nametag on that was not her own. But he knew her by that name, whatever it was. He would call her that, and she responded, obviously. It said she was from some other country, and she had to go along with it. By about the 5th or 6th day she finally told him her real name, and where she really was from, and she told him that she had to borrow that name tag because she lost hers. They ended up pretty good friends and still keep in touch. It's just kind of funny. He says he still likes to call her by her borrowed name.

Hey everyone! Just thought I would share my good news!

I finally got my letter today!!!!!!!!!

Fall ATTRACTIONS :dance3:

Congrats! When did you interview/apply??

I had my interview on January 31st. There was some issue with my role checklist, so it took FOREVER to hear back! When I first found out there was a problem (3 weeks after my interview), I called the CP office and they told me we could take care of it then over the phone, so I thought it was fixed after that. :confused3 But then two weeks later they actually called me to tell me that they had made a mistake by telling me it could be taken care of over the phone and that I would just have to resend my checklist. Grrrrrrr.... Anyway, I resent the checklist 10 days ago and now I'm finally officially in the program!!!

Yeah everybody calls me by my last name. My work name tag even has my last name on it. So I'm unsure what I'll do if I get accepted into the CP. I know I respond better to my last name but I'm not sure if Disney would frown upon it or not. :confused3

I JUST GOT ACCEPTED INTO FALL ADVANTAGE... with my first choice of ATTRACTIONS! YIPEE YI YAYYYYY HEYYYYYYY!

Congratulations!!!! I'm doing Attractions as well!!! What would be your preferred attraction? I'm hoping for Haunted Mansion, or anything that doesn't have a truly heinous costume.

Well, I want a high-spiel attraction, but I think I am hoping for GMR, actually. Or Jungle Cruise... oooh. :)

i interviewed today!! i think it went pretty well. I gave them a list of choices--attractions, vacation planner, main entrance operations, character attendant and hospitality--so hopefully they won't read that "maybe" to that quick service answer. :)

so on average how long does it take to hear anything? i faxed my application in today and i'm mailing it tomorrow. i'm nervous, but i guess the hardest part is over now, right?

I'd say the hardest part was waiting for the letter to arrive. I got mine little over 2 weeks after I mailed my application. Good luck
