Thank you for starting! I'm so excited to go on an Adults Only trip with Husband We bought a small Poly contract earlier this year and are stay at the resort for the first time ever!

FREQUENT breaks from the heat - I go to Florida a lot in the summer and I am very sensitive to the heat. I have a small fan I can attach to my shirt or crossbody that is great to get some airflow and AKL has nice pools that are good for a break during the high heat of the day. I also tend to plan to get lunch around 1-2 pm to get out of the worst heat of the day. Always carry a water bottle with you and have Liquid IV or something similar with you because the humidity is shocking for how much it depletes your sodium levels/electrolytes even when it's not so bad just because of the position of the sun. We tend to get the resort mugs because we have a routine where one of us will hop into the shower first while the other runs to the quick service to fill up the mugs with something so we can refuel our electrolytes before we get ready for bed. It helps us relax and also helps us not feel super gross the next morning. Some people swear by those towels you can wet and it helps you cool off. I have used them but they don't help me much

June is also a little weird. Sometimes (like when I was down last year) it is GORGEOUS - 70s and 80s and low humidity, we only had a couple really big rainstorms, and then a couple years ago we had no rainstorms but it was in the 100s and so humid.

Serious question - with so many WDW trips under your belt, why would you want to do triple split stays? Wouldn't it be better to just find two places instead of three?

I haven't ever done a split stay before, but we have our first planned for this coming June - Beach Club for five nights, then Bay Lake Tower for 3. We plan to do two resort days to fully take advantage of Beach Club - Stormalong Bay, Surrey Bikes, Cape May Cafe, Skyliner to Riviera for dining, etc. We plan on one resort day at BLT to resort hop the monorail loop.

We also really like the idea of three park days split between Epcot and Hollywood Studios, then two park days at MK (with maybe a half day at AK). So splitting between Beach Club and BLT is the perfect way to take full advantage of proximity.

Is there a particular reason you're splitting between GF and WL instead of picking one of the two?

For this one, we booked club level at the GF, and typically when we book club level at a hotel, we want to get to that hotel first thing the morning of our stay to take full advantage. Because of this, we'll often book a cheaper hotel the night before so we can move over to the club hotel first thing the following morning. This trip originally started as just a two hotel split stay because of this, but then we booked after hours at MK on what was the last night of the trip, but then we realized we didn't want to fly home the day after that so booked another night. However we didn't want to spend GF CL money for an extra night, so decided to move over to WL that last night since we got a great bounce back rate for that room.

Normally split stays like this for us start as just two hotels, mostly to be near MK on party nights, then moving down to an Epcot area resort which we usually prefer. I feel you on the adding days and discounts, etc. That's usually the reason why I do split stays. That or flights. For my June trip we found that we'd lose a day if we flew in on the 25th but if we flew in the 24th we'd be able to fly in in the morning, have a whole day, and not feel like we'd be rushing the rest of the week since we plan on it being a staycation and we want to be able to relax. And because we paid for our main reservation with points and couldn't easily add a day so instead we booked a split stay.

Honestly my April trip as of right now is my only 2026 non-split stay lol

Funny you mention April, we came sooooo close to having a non-split stay trip in April, but of course we decided to add a night and the room category we had booked the rest of the week was sold out. So back to a split stay, BUT we're doing the whole thing in the same hotel, so kinda a partial split stay

Well, this is embarrassing...only an hour after posting this I decided to add a night to the April trip....and now we're back to another triple split stay. I think we need help.

I'm considering moving our march trip to June for a better deal and all the new summer attractions. Buzz big thunder and rockin roller coaster will all be open? We did August once and said never again...

Just booked our trip for my son's college graduation celebration. 11 people in 4 rooms at Bay Lake Tower from 6/26-7/2. Looking forward to having an active countdown again (only a short trip last year of 3 days while hoarding our DVC points for this trip)!

Being a DVC family with a teacher for my DW, we are regular summer travelers and the above advice is pretty good. I am one of those that swear by the cooling towels (to be honest it might be because I often run into the bathrooms to rehydrate the towels and that gets me a few extra blasts of air per day). I will add a UV umbrella helps, as do some of the personal fans (got one that clips to your waistband two years ago and really enjoyed it - but it was louder than most of the neck ones you might see). We often get a case of water delivered - a tip I swear by is to freeze 2-3 water bottles in the mini-fridge and pack them in the back part of your backpack- it helps keep it cool for the person wearing it and after a bit you have a cold water to drink. Taking breaks in the afternoon is nice as well- taking time to swim before going back to a park really helps. But if you are a park all day kind of person- think midday shows and dark rides or shopping as a "break".

I just booked my family's first-ever Disney World vacation! I couldn't pass up the Buy 4 Get 2 Free package deal and wanted to secure something before the offer ends on February 15. I went on a couple short weekend trips recently, but my husband hasn't been since January 2020 and my 3-almost-4 year old ( ) has never been to Disney World! He has gone to Disneyland twice but this feels like the "big leagues".

I was originally thinking I would wait to take our first family trip until we had our second baby and our older one was more like 6-7 years old. Then, I got pregnant with twins last spring, miscarried Twin B in May, and Twin A was stillborn in August. We are trying again now, but I don't want to put any more plans on hold while trying to conceive. I figure if I'm pregnant by mid-June, we can cancel and pivot to a week at the beach or something. And if I'm not pregnant yet, the silver lining will be getting to surprise my kiddo and ride Big Thunder Mountain with him for the first time

We are booked at Pop Century June 20 - 27 and we will also be driving from Houston to Orlando due to absurd flight prices and so we're not out $$$ if we need to cancel. I'm thinking we will probably not be purchasing Lightning Lanes or making many ADRs to keep costs under control and allow ourselves more flexibility each day. So if anyone has tips for surviving summer in Orlando and also a looooong road trip with a preschooler, please share!

I have been watching for this! We will be there June 9-18th, 10 of us, staying at All Star Music for the first time. Really starting to narrow all the plans down now, ready for our 60 day window to open in April!

DS &i headed down Father's Day night! Airport hotel first sleep, then POFQ Mon-Wed & SS studio Wed-Fri.
Happy to say I just bought MK After Hours tickets on AAA site! Decent discount I was getting scared that the night would sell out. Thinking about doing HS After Hours on that Wednesday too (We loved Epcot AH). DS is 21 so trips are blessedly different now. Not as much rope-dropping!
Looking forward to drinks at Scat Cat's, boat rides, sushi, Dole whip, coffee on the SS balcony, and seeing my son act like a little one again after a rough semester! ADRs.....hmmm.... Shiki-Sai, Kimono's, Trattoria al Forno, need to consult with my travel buddy. He hasn't done HoopDD in a few years and mentioned that today.
