Fall/Fall Advantage 2008

Yikes I hope that's not all that's open because I didn't put it on my list! I left off QSFB, custodial, and merchandise. My recruiter promised me that I wouldn't get a role that wasn't on my list so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Im sorry to worry everyone! Like I said that was only my recruiter and that was as of friday, so if you applying before then it probably doesnt mean anything about your status.

The only problem is that if you leave a lot of roles off, you can run the risk of not getting in because they can't give you anything if the ones you checked are full.

Sam, just look at the bright site: You're going to be working at Disney and get well paid. I heard that was the job that paid the most in the CP.

:goodvibes I'm sending good vibes to ya...hope we all have fun!

Is it really the highest paid CP? because on the website it says you can get paid from 6 something and hour to 8 something an hour, and QSFB is only 7.29
So that doesnt add up. Im still kind of in shock about the pay rates in florida because here in california minimum wage is 8 and Im working at 8.50 Its just going to feel like a big shock once i get there, but hey! the rent is cheaper than my rent here!

She also told me that when she did the CP she was in qsfb and was bummed out when she got her offer too. She talked about her experiences and was honest about the positives and negatives, so that was nice.

I just dont want people to think I hate recruiting or think of them all as mean or evil or anything because they are still really sweet.

Aww...I'm sorry to hear about the mix-up. One of my really good friends from my CP was in QSFB and she actually got promoted during our program, so depending on where you get placed you may not be stuck handing out burgers and fries for months ;)

I'm sure you'll have a great time anyways! You seem like you really want to be a part of the program and that's the most important part...

I've heard BBB is the highest paid now, but I'm not 100% sure. When I was there in 2005 QSFB was the highest paid CP position.

The reason the pay is so different is 1) you are a CP, so you are seasonal, they don't have to pay minimum wage. 2) Florida is less expensive to live in than California and esp Connecticut (which is where I am from) therefore they pay far less than what we get paid.

At my presentation they said the QSFB was the highest paid, and $8 something (maybe $8.15?) but that that was only for QSFB in the Magic Kingdom working later nights when the Kingdom is super busy. My recruiter says they pay those CP's more because nobody really wants to do that job, and they really need the QS places to be open during the later hours at MK when everybody has the munchies. She also pitched that you get to sleep in more that way ;) . So maybe your location isn't in the MK Sam? Or maybe once you get down there they give you the option to work the later nights and make the extra money. I'm sure extra money in any way will be nice, speaking from the bottom end of the pay spectrum, Attractions only gets $6.79.

BBB and performer are the highest paid.

Oh no... about the roles being filled? That has me scared... I mean, I didn't think that they would be filled that quick! I only checked Merchandise and Attractions. But they do say that based on the interview, we may be placed in roles that we did not indicate that we wanted... so hopefully if they really like someone (and I hope they really like me), they will still offer me a role! :)

That's what we were told during the campus presentation.

QSR is high paying role, relative to other roles.

I believe Magic Kingdom QSR (which has it's own role "checkbox") maxes out close to $8.00, with all normal premiums. These roles have a list of challenges, being that they're all within high volume locations, and cast members are recognized financially in light of that.

All other areas have at least a 50¢ QSR premium tacked onto the CP base rate ($6.79). For comparison, attractions is $6.79, full service food & beverage is $6.98, and hospitality is at around $7.43 (these are all I know).

In any case, don't look to get rich while on the programs. It's a break-even experience for most.

Hi all, I'm Ryan and I just signed up. I applied for the Fall 2008 advantage and I'm still waiting to hear back. I've already gotten most of my questions answered by reading this thread and the questions thread so I don't have much more to ask in that regard. I just thought I'd introduce myself and hopefully get to know some of you in hopes that I get accepted. I'm on spring break right now, but I'm hoping my letter is waiting for me when I get back to school Saturday since it will have been a little over 2 weeks since they recieved my paperwork.

I think my interview went ok, and I got questions pertaining to merchandising, although I checked off all but housekeeping and character performer, so hopefully if I don't get in merchandising they put me somewhere else. So yeah, hello everyone I look forward to posting more here. :)

Hi Ryan, and welcome!

Good luck to you.:)

The cost of living in Florida is considerably less then the Western and Eastern Coasts of the country. The Midwest also has a really low cost of living.

Hello all!

I was just reading through this thread and it reminded me of how nervous/excited I was before my Fall 2006 College Program! I had an amazing experience and loved it so much that I am still here working for the Company Full-Time! (I had already graduated from college prior to beginning the program.) I'm very jealous of all of you - make the most of your time down here and maintain a positive attitude and you will have the time of your life!

On another note, I read that a lot of you are interested in living at Patterson Court. Currently this facility is designated to house only students on the International College Program, as this program is rapidly growing and the need for additional housing is largest within this program. I'm not saying you won't be able to live here, just don't get your hopes up!

Good Luck!

Really? Where did you hear that (I'm not saying your wrong- I'm sincerely curious). I'm also asking because my recruiter told us it would be for everyone.
