Fall/Fall Advantage 2008

I'm scared too! ill be going alone, and probably have to get a hotel room. I have an aunt in Fl, but i'm not sure how far away she is. Ill probably try and get a hotel room close to vista and take cabs around, but Ive never taken cabs around either.

How far away from the disney property is vista? Im kind of confused about the whole entire set up of wdw in general. I'm used to DL and everything is in walking distance. I'm afraid Ill be way overwhelmed when I get there.

My roommate was 18 when she was on the College Program and came all the way from Arizona by herself. She stayed at a hotel the night before and got to Vista again by herself. It is very possible to do and it is a good way to start out doing things on your own. Just remember there are HUNDREDS of people checking in so you are not really alone. Once you get to Vista you will realize there are tons of people in the same boat as you. Plus you also have all these people on the boards.

im stopping in ga, three hours away so ima have to get up at 5 to get there, joanna, was ur check in time 9 or did you just get there that early???i thinkof want to drive the last hours the night before and get a hotel, so i dont look awful that mornign.lol. i just need to figure it out, but if i do let me know if you are getting together the daybefore im all in!!!

They have check-in from 9am til 1pm. However, you can get in early. I have always gotten there at 8am and been allowed to start.

im gonna hve to get a hotel right outside vista now, my ga friend fell through. o well, i guess that just gives me a day to walk around the park!!!:) im thinkin holiday inn or something

I think thats what im gonna do. Does anyone know which holiday inn it is thats right across the street?

My start date might sound weird to you but its for the International CP and i'll be coming from england :D

This will be my 3rd program :o:idea: :rolleyes1

Anyone else arriving around the same time? Anyone else in attractions?

The one across the street is the Holiday Inn Sunspree. I stayed there for my first CP.

oooooooh, my fault. I didn't read the posts before hand.

Well, i've convinced my mom and i'm officially going! :goodvibes: I am in Full Service, i'll be a host at a restaurant doing reservations and showing guests to their tables. I'm really really excited, but also very scared. This is my first time on my own and away from home ever, but I also can't wait for this wonderful experience.

I'm also a bit nervous because I have to keep my grades up and finish all my classes with at least a B, hopefully everything goes well because i'm not that good at math...

I feel the same way but if I remember correctly you said that some friends of yours were also going so you won't be on your own.

I'm actually going alone. :scared1:

Two of my very close college friends have been accepted also, hopefully they won't change their mind. They're the little piece of home that will be there with me.

I didn't know anyone when I went down on my CP...not personally anyhow. I met a ton of people on the boards though! There were 3 of us who split a room at the HI Sunspree the night before, so it wasn't so bad price-wise...and it was very clean! Just an idea. I had my car, so I picked the other 2 up at the airport and brought them to the hotel. It is literally right across the street! Well, the street Vista is on is right across the street, and so it is maybe like walking a block or two...closest you'll find if I recall though.

As for apartments...I stayed in Chatham and never regretted it for a second. Yes, I had friends in Vista and visited them often and was always giving rides (If you have a car, the rumours are true--be prepared! I love helping out though...) Anyhow, they did rennovate Vista last year while I was on my CP, so it's not as run-down as it was in the beginning. It's really personal preference. I did prefer the quiet that Chatham offered though. If you have to work early shifts, you will too :-)

I think you guys may get to choose Patterson Court as well, right?

I went down with someone my first CP (and we roomed together). The other 2, I have gone down alone. I love Chatham- that's where I have stayed all 3 times. But I am hoping for Patterson this time.
