I have been wrong a lot but I think either this Tuesday OR not until July 29th (I do think they might be waiting for the Aus discount to end)

7000 Disney world
2000 spending / excursions / drinks onboard
400 Epcot fireworks party

Goodness that’s in pounds and all so it’s well over 20k in dollars. Wish I never worked it out now

This years trip to Disney is already paid. I am working on end of next years now. When I say the cruise is nearly paid that’s the cruise only, next I’ll need to move on to all the other stuff like Disney world etc. we normally go away for about three weeks so that’s why it’s so high.

Two options- A big announcement is coming (not likely with the current port agreements) or the more likely cause- sales are soft and DCL wants guests booking their current offerings instead of focusing on ones later on. Considering the recent promotions (some stackable with restricted GT rates) and the new reduced deposit, I think it is safe to say it is the latter.

Not really getting the logic. When I have availability for a trip in two years i dont bring it foward 8 months cos dcl hasnt bothered to release them in two years time. Thats not how leave allocation works. I look at other cruise lines or holidays ideas instead. Dcl loses my business.

And even if the logic did work (it doesnt) all dcl is doing is creating less demand in two years time by bringing demand foward now.

Yeah I put it all on a rewards cash back card which iv been saying up a few year now. Mybe one of my better savings methods

If your cruise is almost paid off why are you waiting so long? Why not go now. Next question is why is it 18k? Concierge? 18k would be at least 3 or 4 cruises for me.

My 12 night med for next summer for the 5 of us non-concierge is over 20K for just the room. Not hard to do on DCL,

Why not now? People who work cant just take time off whenever they want. They do have to accumulate the available leave (as do their partners and any other adults coming with them) and coordinate school holidays if with children. People going to Europe also often book flights nearly 12 months in advance as with other hotels.

One of the questions asked for those of us who recently took advantage of the Wish discounts was Did you cancel another cruise to book this? What cruise line? And then they asked when it was scheduled for.

I know some people just really want to schedule their next trip in two years but I think DCL realizes that for many of their guests, they don't want to book any cruise- they want a Disney one. And those who were okay going with another line because DCL doesn't have their schedule out 2 years in advance, probably would have gone with another line anyway once prices came out from DCL. They want to grab those who just want to cruise DCL sooner, rather than later.

DCL is a niche cruise line IMO. And while I, like many on here, like to plan vacations well in advance I think booking a year+ out is enough for most DCL cruisers.

I'd rather continue with what I've been doing and cruise 2 or 3 times a year.

I'm aware I have a job and kids. There is a lot of space between right this second and 18 months from now. I would not book flights 12 months in advance unless you are using points. You are not getting the best price.

18k is a lot of money for a 12 night cruise. Maybe in the disboards reality it's not, but out in the real world it is. I don't know anywhere else but here where18k for a verandah would be considered normal. That cruise has been discounted the last couple of years I would look for that again. It doesn't seem to be selling like the 9 nights greek Isles one is.

I canceled 5 night Magic 8/31 for 2 people
And booked 3 night with Disney Visa offer 8/29 3 nights 4 people two staterooms.
I did get a survey about this and it did ask if I cancelled another cruise to do this one but I don’t remember it being Disney specific. I wish it would have given an option to say I am spending more to do this vs what I cancelled

We would have done 4 night Wish with the 4 of us on 9/1 if it had fit the other two peoples schedules but it didn’t.
I also noted I booked this specifically because of the offer

We're sailing with friends next year, they have only done 1 cruise which was Mavel day at Sea (Nassau and double dip Castaway). When we were looking at possible cruises, determined by sailing from florida and having to be at least 7 nights, meaning the Treasure, they got so excited about the Western, even though we tried to point out how much better the Eastern ports are. In the end the decision came down to dates, because we want to be sailing on someone's birthday which, if disney follow the pattern and don't make any changes, will be the Western. I really don't enjoy the Western ports (though George Town isnt too bad). Otherwise I guess its a ship day or 2 for us.

Hoping they do a little shake up, but I honestly don't see that happening.

Agreed…. The water around the Cayman Islands is fabulous.

A lot of my cruises have been in Europe. I wish I lived closer too. I live on the western part of the USA. Florida is also a long hike. I have had the pleasure of cruising of San Diego three times. I wish Disney would do some Summer cruises out of there when it's a little warmer.

I am hoping for a ship in San Diego next Fall. I'm cruising out of Rome in June.
