Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

If I have a standard at CBR with FD with 4 people. Would they let me add another child? I know they have rooms for 5.

My problem is it will not let me check any resort but the Poly, and there are no FD offers for the Poly.

I had that issue yesterday, it would ONLY show me AKL for any dates I would put it...

Yes, they were definitely on sale by this time last year. I'm pretty sure they are seeing how their new early morning and after hours sell so they can decide what kind of increase they can get away with this year. I was worried about it but since they have been giving the after hours tickets away for free and now selling them at half price I'm hoping that means the rumored 10% increase is true.
Hoping the 10% is right, that's doable. I was worried too, but like you I'm enjoying seeing them giving the tickets away and 1/2 price, hoping that means people aren't willing to pay $150! Because $150 for mnsshp would make it out of our budget.

Has anyone seen availability in a standard room at CBR for 10/1-10/5? I've been searching since 3:00am CST, when free dining was released, and have only found Pirate Rooms.
Keep looking! I don't see any right now, but a few of us got similar dates earlier this week! (but a good bit after monday)

Wait. Where did the $150 MNSSHP ticket price come from?

The "Disney After Hours." They've giving people who buy those tickets 3 extra hours after the park closes on certain nights to ride the rides with no lines. They cost $150. People were speculating that if it was successful, then Disney would raise prices significantly for MVMCP and MNSSHP. So far, the After Hours hasn't been successful.

That would seem crazy to double the price of the party tickets though. I guess anything could be possible.

Just read an article....only about 300 sold the first night of this with about 1000 given to DVC members and AP holders. They will be giving 50% off for both of these groups it appears for the remaining dates.

Yep, I was hearing the same thing! And a lot of those people were bloggers who wanted to write about the event.

But since AP holders get into the parks for "free" and usually go multiple times a year, I don't think it makes much sense for most of them to pay $75 for 3 hours of extra time at night. Maybe some will do it just for the experience, though?

I was at Target today and picked up two pairs of the adorable Disney shoes we were talking about yesterday. If anybody else is planning to buy them, be aware they run a little large. I normally wear a 7 and have slightly wide feet. I tried on a 7 first and it was quite large on me - I had a solid 3/4 inch of extra length. I then tried on the 6, and it was just right for wearing with regular thickness socks. The toebox is pretty large, so my feet weren't squished at all in the smaller size.

ASsp and ASm both available for my dates now (plus CBR or CSR depending on whether I'm Thurs-Mon or Fri-Tues). Dh is still saying no but I should find out in less than two week whether or not I'm going back to teaching in the fall after 7 years home *panicked excitement* - what he doesn't realize is that if I'm working, we're GOING :cool1: (and if POR magically shows up for my dates, I'm booking anyway ;)

So we were thinking of buying party tickets for the first time. If we shorten out park tickets by 1 day, will we loose a day of dining too? ( We currently have 7 day with water parks) Also, could we still use one of the water park passes that morning? Thanks for the help!

FD is determined by the amount of nights booked at your resort not park tickets.

Not if you don't shorten your resort stay and stick to at least the ticket minimum (I think the minimum was a 2 day ticket?). We're going for 5 nights, and we have a 3 day park hopper and will get tickets to 1 day of MVMCP and have 1 day off from the parks. We'll get 5 days worth from the dining plan.

I was able to cancel our original reservations and get new ones at Music when free dining offered. Then, yesterday, Pop opened up and I changed resorts since Pop is our favorite. Anyone know how long it takes to get credit back on Visa card when you cancel reservations? We have two rooms reserved each time and only one deposit has been credited. Anyone else have an issue with refund credit for deposit?

You can also skip getting the money credited back to your card and transfer it to your new reservation!

And I thought the early morning fantasyland/breakfast and three rides deal was expensive!!!

Have a question I've never seen addressed... I know that when you book a dining plan online with your package it is based on the number of nights you've booked, but is it possible if you call Reservations for them to make the dining plan for a lesser number of nights? In other words I purchase a 6 Night/6 Day package but only want the dining plan for 5 Nights.

Even if you could, you'd still be paying rack rate for your package for the full amount of nights.

I think your only option would be to book the fd package for five nights and try to get a discounted room for one night. But then you have to check in and you may have to change rooms.

That's what the logical part of my brain says... But if the after hours thing was selling out for every night, I wouldn't put it passed them to do something crazy!
Thankfully that doesn't seem to be the case. However, from what I've seen anyone who has done after hours has loved it. Of course, that's because hardly anyone bought the tickets so the park is empty lol
