Fall 2012 Professional Internships

I know I'm still in consideration for some CP Alum PIs, but haven't heard anything in the last five a half weeks since my phone screen about those. Has anyone else heard anything about the Alum positions?

From what I've read from the Fall 2011 discussion boards ( lame I know, but at this point I need as much info as I can get lol) Alumni PIs didn't hear back until the end of April. So we don't have to much longer in the grand scheme of things. Which ones did you apply for if you don't mind me asking? When did you do your CP?

So a friend of my friend posted on her fb that she got accepted into the conservation presentation pi at dak, I thought it was super soon for someone to hear already!

Haha I'm the same way, don't worry! :) And, yeah, it's honestly not that much longer of a wait, but time seems to go by so slowly when you're waiting and waiting.

I did FSFB for Spring Ad in 2011. Had theeee time of my life. :) I applied for College Recruiting Coordinator (I'm a Campus Rep, so I figured I had a decent shot), that Next Generation Experience one (it sounded really interesting), Traditions, Guest Relations, Cruise Line Recruitment, CP Programs Office Coordinator, Casting Coordinator Associate, and Cast Activities - Special Events. There are some I'd like more than others, but I'd take any if offered.

College Recruiting Coordinator and Communications are my top. I'm going to that crazy happy girl if I end up getting either.

Which did you apply for?

I've heard that the DAK programs usually hear first! I wonder why?

I did my CP Fall 2008- Spring 2009. I was a character performer. I had an amazing experience. I made some of my best friends.
I applied for Traditions, Magic Kingdom Project Support, Recreation Auditor(I have a lengthy performance background) and Guest Relations.
Traditions is my top choice, but I'm in love with all of them. So either way I'd be ecstatically, screamingly happy.

I hope we get in!!!!

I hope so, too!!

I know it's cheesy, but I feel like I really belong at Disney. It's not like I was an outcast or antisocial in high school or in college now or anything, but I just feel the happiest and most content with life at Disney. I can't imagine being anywhere else (I kind of indirectly convinced my little sister to go to college in Florida, and now am trying to convince my parents to move out there later on as well lol). I have another CP lined up for if I don't get any PI offers, but I want one of those PIs SOO badly. The CP was wonderful and truly ended up being a life-changing experience for me, but I'd really like to get out of the parks and be a part of their corporate life.

It's not cheesy at all because I feel the exact same way. I feel ad if I am my best self when I'm their, whether it's vacationing or working. My goal is to try as hard as possible to go full time after the PI. it's nice that you have the CP lined up just in case. But I totally agree with you, there is nowhere else I'd rather be than Disney. I've had alot of different jobs, and nothing fits like Disney. It's like an old pair of favorite jeans. Lol...

Yes, exactly! I feel the most like myself and the most comfortable with myself whenever I'm there. I feel like no one judges or really cares; everyone is just so carefree and happy and excited to meet you. It normally takes me a while to warm up to people, but within the first two days of being on the CP, three of the friends I made almost instantly ended up being three of my absolute best friends--and we still are today. The same went for many of my work friends. I did FSFB with four other girls for the majority of my program and I still talk on an almost daily basis with two of them--and one is back in New Zealand! We all went on a big trip together to Disneyland this past November, and I always stay with one of them whenever I'm in Orlando and she drives me freaking everywhere. She's a saint. She and I are also running the Everest Challenge together in May! All of this just doesn't happen where I'm from.... People are so much more judgmental and don't seem to be as passionate about life. Being at Disney really makes me want to stretch my boundaries and I love that.

Good luck with FT! I still have one last semester of school after this fall, so I'm going to try for PIs again next fall as well and then see what happens after that. I would really love to ultimately become some kind of coordinator within the Communications department.

Reading your friendship stories made me smile! I will do a CP if I don't get a PI, and I am really looking forward to making friends. I don't really have a lot of friends in college, but I think Disney people will be more like me than people at my college. :cool1:

I was just sent a "documents to be completed" email this morning! Good sign hopefully?

Disney people sure are more lively and accepting, for the most part. The vast majority of the employees, especially the CPs, are all really excited and happy to be there doing what they do. It's just a happier environment. :)

Doing a CP is a really good experience. Whether you are tryin to figure out what you want do in life, you eventually want a career with Disney or your just looking for a good experience. It's great. It really helps you to appreciate the work and effort that goes into a great vacation. So if you don't get a PI, definetly do a CP.

@Caitlin1990. Background information request! That's so exciting!!!!

I saw a lot of people reporting dashboard movement and even some acceptances today. Nothing changed for me. How is everyone else doing?

My roommate told me that a guy in one of her Comm classes today told the professor that he was already accepted for a PI for this fall. She didn't know what area he got in for; just that he got in. Isn't it a little early still?

I got the call this morning offering me a lodging management internship! If you have seen the videos of parents surprising kids that they are going to Disney, that was me. I started screaming in my living room. Now need to start looking for housing.

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear. I'm sending loads of pixie dust heading your way.

I've seen the facebook group for the college program, but I can't find the one for the professional internships...how do I get to it?

Looks like there isn't one specifically for Professional Interns, so I started one! Everybody, please join at facebook.com/disneyprofessionalinternship

There is one called Disney Professional Internships Fall 2012. You have to ask to join it. There is some good information on it. I can't post the link because I haven't posted enough on here to let me. Sorry.

No matter what I typed it; I could not find that group at all (the link works though); that's odd. But no matter
