Fall 2012 Professional Internships

I applied for the Finance internship in January. Had my interview in February. Now I am "patiently" awaiting for news from disney! I was nervous that I wasn't accepted because I haven't heard from them for over a month. Now that I have read this message board I feel more assured that there is still hope!

Problem is... I heard from Aflac about being accepted for their internship. I don't know if I should accept their offer. I much rather prefer working for disney.

Have you looked at previous semesters on here? It might give you an idea of when the Finance folks heard back.

I also applied for the Finance internship and things have started to pick up over the last two weeks. I had my final interview last Thursday, and then yesterday I received an email with a background application that had to be completed. Hopefully they are nearing their decisions and we will hear something soon!

That definitely is exciting news! I haven't heard anything since I got a call on 2/24/12 to ask additional questions on a finance internship. I'm still in interview stage for that one plus another one so hoping to hear something very soon (at least to ask for a 2nd interview). Good luck! Sounds like you are being considered as a final candidate

It's definitely exciting, but the waiting process is rough! What internships are you in interview stage for? The one I believe I'm a final candidate for is the Operations Finance Internship. However, I am also in interview stage for the Resorts Revenue Management Internship. Good luck to you as well and hopefully you will hear something soon!

Awesome!! Congrats to you as well!! Do you have much information yet? I was pretty much told I as accepted and I won't know anything until a week or so before arrival.

I was told to expect the background check information, which came yesterday. Other than that, I was told I would hear from my location about 2 weeks before arrival. I've started the search for housing just to get an idea of what all is out there.

For anyone that has been accepted for a PI, are there any of yall that hadn't done the CP beforehand. I haven't done the CP and had an interview for the Pricing PI but want to see if I'm at a disadvantage if I haven't done a CP before. Thanks

I got a call this morning for an interview with Cruise Line Recruitment!

By the way, do any of you know what the chances are of you getting offered a position if they send you the background document email?

I got an email yesterday thinking it was a rejection letter, but it ended up to be a request for me to fill out a form named "Application DWSS Pro Intern FL"

It was basically a bunch of background questions asking if I will submit my fingerprints for background check if hired.

So I guess I am still in the run. Anyone else got the same email recently?

I received that the Thursday before my interview the following Tuesday. I think that's a good sign!

Its good to see that people are starting to get some type of correspondence. Definately sounds like good news to me; every job I've ever had wanted to hire you if they started asking for your background info and fingerprints (they have to pay for those services, why would they waste their money if they ain't gonna hire you? lol) It's almost April! Everybody keep your hopes up!

I'm still waiting on word for the Finance program; I have a sneaking suspicion we will be the last to know. I don't know why lol

I applied for the accounting/finance PI. But the recruiters came to my university during a career fair in late January, and she scheduled me for an interview the next morning. She told me that I will not need to do a phone screen since she already conducted a face-to-face with me. So this is literally the first response I got from Disney since my interview, all the way back in January!

For you and the rest of you who got that email about a background check, that is good news. I got mine about a week after my face to face interview for the Management Internship. It was only a few days later that I got a call offering me the position. I haven't heard of anybody who has gotten that email and not been offered the job. So that is good news!!
