Fall 2012 AP Rates- is anyone else waiting?

I just booked a last minute trip and will have an AP since we are returning for Christmas. My dates are Aug 14-21. I was able to get the AP discount for Aug 14. I was told by the CM to check back around July 13 for the next round of discounts. He said that is when it was expected. Hope this helps!

that is soooo late for late august travel! Well beyond people's 45 day mark. What are they thinking?

I hear you. I'm lucky in that I found a good rate through an agency for the Yacht Club. I can live with what we're paying and be happy but to leave the discounts this long for late August travellers really does zero to make me want to invest in AP's again.

Me too, I'm glad I booked on a decent BB offer from Jan WL visit. I can live with that, but had hopes of a better AP . But with 2 trips a year AP is still worth it for us. With or without resort discount. But I want one!!!

Not a happy camper here. I am booked AP rate at POR through Aug 15 but my plane reservation is booked for Aug 19th to leave. I need to book something for the 15 - 19. I just don't want to book something I am hoping for a good discount so I can try something new.

It sucks we have to wait until next Friday but I'm confused with so many people who are concerned they are within 45 days? Why is your reservation a package? If you switch over to AP discount once it comes out they have to re-do it anyway. You're better off making it a room only if you are concerned with resort availability, switch the package to a room only, then switch it to a package a week before your trip.

I've done this AP/DDP/Room Only package thing at least twice a year since 2009, so if anyone has any questions I can probably help them, I've been involved in every situation imaginable, haha!

Reserving the at room rack rate does not guarantee that it will be available on the AP rates, so there's no advantage to booking the room now unless you are worried that it will be booked up Hope that helps!

The only time I've ever booked a room at rack rate while I was waiting for a discount, was if one hadn't come out by the 180 day mark. I'd then book at rack rate on the 181st day, just so I could make sure I got all my ADRs at the 180 day mark. The only other way I'd book ahead time at rack rate would be if I knew I was going regardless if a discount came out and just wanted to start paying on the trip ahead of time.

Historically it should be through about 10/3. But nothing is going along the lines of previous years right now so who knows!

No more wait for me We decided to borrow from our 2013 DVC points and stay at SSR. It makes more sense to go for "free" this summer and pay next summer....or borrow again. GOod luck to you all in the wait...I will be thinking of you all!

Ugh, yeah, that's kind of what I thought! I wish they would just surprise us and have AP rates released for the rest of the year! I can't take much more of this, it's so stressful!

I booked 2 rooms with 1 AP, we are family of 7, and it was the same reservation #. Don't know if that makes a difference, at Universal we needed an AP for each room. Luckily not at WDW

Yes, I'm thinking of booking with an AAA room discount, if no WDW discounts come out for Jan 2013, just because my 180 ADR dates will be coming up in mid July. Have hopes of a good BB while I'm there in Aug.
