Fall 2008 PIs

when I had my interview back on Jan 31 and I applied for my more than 3 PI's and my interviewer asked me what my top 3 were. I told her and then she said that even the other ones I didn't list in my top three, I could be contacted by them for a second interview. Although I have only received 2nd interviews for the three that I had chose for my top 3. I really hope my application really does get forwarded to the other. I applied for the wedding PI and saw that someone already received an e-mail from them so I guess I'm out on that. Oh well hopefully the three I have interviews with someone of them will hire me.

I just had an interview for the sales and event internship. I think it went really well and it sounds like an awesome internship. This internship wasn't in my top three but I was still contacted and I think she could see that it wasn't in my top three. So I think you will still get contacted if they are interested.

Has anybody else heard from the Wedding Department or had their interview with them?

I had mine this morning and I think it went well.

Ok, so i had my screening interview today and my first interview is this Thursday with LINDA. Did anyone have her??? Any advice on the questions in this first interview??? This suspense is killing me

That's the one I'm having tomorrow! I'll let you know when I find out. My interview is at 4:30. Thanks Cheryl for the heads up on the question! It's weird I'm not nervous at all...I'm so excited! :woohoo:

I finally got a call and have a screening tomorrow. The time that was left is at 10:45 pm.... yeah kind of strange that its that late at night.

I know, mine was at 10pm and when I told my friends, they were like, "Huh? At Night???" But I actually liked it being then... I feel awake at night... ah, the life of a college student. :)

Hi all, new to this thread but no to the boards. I applied for four different internships (Labor Operations Cast Deployment, Training and Development, Work Force Planning and Analysis, and Labor Operations System Sustainment). I couldn't choose between them and felt that I met the qualifications for all of them, so I hope that not narrowing my choices down further won't hurt my chances of being selected.

I submitted all of these applications on March 6, 2008. Should I be worried that I have not yet been contacted for an initial screening?

Also, I have read through most of this thread but I have a couple of questions if anyone would be willing to help me out: Does anyone know when in January the PIs will end? Also, I think this would be a truly great opprotunity to help launch my career (I am finishing my bachelor's in Psych and then going on to do a double PhD in I/O and clinical Psych, hoping to work corporate in I/O.) I really would like to work for Disney eventually, so I am wondering if the PI would open some doors for me, even if I will not finish my I/O PhD for about 3 years?

TIA

Amy

Hey Amy! Welcome to the PI thread!
You should probably hear from them by the end of the week. Probably at the very latest the end of next week!
The actual dates of the internship are June 20th - January 2nd.
As far as opening doors, it definitely can! You can just keep in contact with your managers, and see about going seasonal or maybe even campus repping while you go for your PhD (I know someone who was a CR while going for her masters, so I'm sure they don't care which degree you're getting as long as you're a student).
Disney, like any other corporation is very big on promoting from within so if you can stay connected with the company then it'll be easier! At the very least it's who you know, that's why the more contacts you have the better. When you get down there NETWORK like mad, and you should be ok! Good luck! And congrats on getting your bachelors!

Hey Amy,

Your interests sound very similar to mine! I applied for 3 of the same internships (Labor Operations Cast Deployment, Training and Development, Work Force Planning and Analysis), am majoring in psych, and hoping to go into organizational development, business school side, looking at Disney long term.

While I had my screening interview, I've not heard anything yet about the second interviews. It's possible that these positions are slower than the others...

Where do you go to school?

Where do you go to school?

I am finishing my Bachelors at Columbia College in Missouri. I go full time online, which works really well for me. It is the same degree program as the on campus, but the classes are accelerated which is great as I get bored easily.

I am either going to continue with online school for my PhD at North Central University out of AZ, as I can do dual PhDs, or I will go to regular school at Wash U in Stl. I know Wash U is a better school but the cost is :scared1: . Also, It will take me 8+ years to do both degrees at WU, where it will be 3-3 1/2 for NCU because of the number of credits you can take. Even if I get the PI acceptance, I can still work on school if I am going online! I work 40+ hours per week now and do school so it shouldn't be an issue.

What school do you go to and where are you planning on continuing? Best of luck! :goodvibes

I just had my DU and learning operations interview, it went fairly well. The questions were pretty much general (why you want to work for disney, examples of dealing with guest etc.) They even asked my experience on my computer skills of microsft word, excel, outlook and powerpoint. The only thing they may hurt my chances is I haven't done the CP program yet. (applied for Fall 2008 Advantage). That's the first question I received was about CP program, besides that, managers were really nice and supportive. Now I have to wait for casting to call with an offer hopefully. Managers also said they are in the beginning stages of interview and could be a couple weeks before I know!!! Good luck to everyone, and if you have any questions let me know!!!:goodvibes

I'm waiting on Linda to call me in 15 minutes for my first interview! Wish me luck! pixiedust:
