Fall 2008 PIs

Thank you! Just got done! Linda was very nice. It's kinda scary but I think I did ok. Now I just have to wait and hope for a second interview :scared1:

Good luck to all of you applying for a Professional Internship! I participated in one myself in Spring 2007 and it was absolutely fantastic! I remember how hard it was waiting for that first interview, then waiting for that second interview, and then waiting again for an offer. I used the DIS a lot to check-in to see where others were in the process - which I think made it harder sometimes, because whenever others heard something and I didn't I would get very worried!:)

I know it's easier said then done, but try not to stress out too much during the process. It takes all of the departments quite awhile to sort through applications, conduct interviews and make decisions, especially in the middle of Spring Break. Be patient and stay positive - the best is yet to come!

And when you do receive an offer, keep in contact with the friends you've made on the DIS. It helps to have a lot of friends and contacts during your PI, especially other young professionals.

Thanks very much for that advice. It's good to hear from someone who has been through it and also who knows what's going on (with Spring Break, and everything). I kinda get how checking these boards makes things worse, but better too! Oh the waiting, oh the waiting! :)

Sweet.. Just had the screening interview and she told me that she would pass me on. Now I just hope to get picked for a 2nd interview. Anyone else interviewing for a management position?

I had her yesterday. She asked me why I want to work for the company, my greatest achievement so far, etc. The standard interview questions. She was very nice. Good luck!

I just finished my 2nd interview with the Finance Department. It was about 45 minutes. The interviewer was Andy Wilson and he said after this they review all the applicants and will began issuing offers in 1-2 weeks. Now I'm playing the waiting game...yet AGAIN! :surfweb: I'm excited though...he said I had a great interview, so hopefully that means something. Guess we'll see!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a few days and I just wanted to say thanks for all the great information about the PI!!

I actually applied for a summer PI (May-Aug) in the Entertainment Resource Center. (I'm a library science graduate student) and I have my interview tonight (another one of those 10 pm phone interviews! lol) and the board has helped me to prepare... a bit ;) Nerves on the other hand, I just can't prepare for! LOL

I really thought I had an account here... anyways

I applied on 2/11/08 for three PIs

Labor Ops Project Analyst
Labor Ops Time Team
Managment Ops

I had my interview for the Labor Ops Time Team today.

First they talked a little about the department and then asked me to talk a little about myself. They asked me my career goal. I told them it was to be Vice President of Epcot.

They asked about a time I had to prioritize, use persuasion, and deal with conflict.

Then it got a little technical. They asked me about my computer science skills. They asked about ASP.net and Sharepoint, which I had no idea what it was and then they asked me about my "Demonstrated Proficency in Microsoft Office."

They asked a couple of technical things about office that I didn't really know and asked me what language macros were written in (?). Apparently it's visual basic for applications.

We concluded by their asking me about any mistakes i've made and why I would be the perfect candidate for the job.

I asked a couple questions and then it was over.

Now we wait.

Hi everyone! Can I ask a really dumb question? I am graduating this May and *hopefully* doing the CP in the fall. I was wondering if it would be possible to do a PI after the CP ends? Or do I have to be a student still?

So i just got done with my first interview and they said they would pass it on to the different departments. She also said that now all i can do is wait. Do they always say that they are passing on your information??? I don't know how i just did...this is gonna bug me untill i find out anything either way.

I don't think they would tell you they are passing your information on if they weren't. Trust me the wait is killing all of us. But even once you get an interview it doesn't make it any easier! Just be patient (I know it is hard) and I'm sure you will hear something. :goodvibes

I just got done with my first interview too! :) Boy was I nervous but it was typical initial interview type questions. I hope I did okay, I was so excited.

They told me the same thing, so at least that's a good thing... right? Good luck everyone!!
