Fall 2008 PIs

Hi! I'm new to all this & to this site :), & i have some questions
1. How do you find out the deadline to apply for an internship?
2. If it doesn't say in the description, how can I tell if the internship will be during the school year or during the summer?
3. From what you gather, what are the looking for in an applicant? Lots of experience in a particular field? What kind of experience did you have?

gracias, you can either reply or if it's ok i could pm you with specific questions, just let me know

oh and it seems most of you are talking about internships in the florida area? is that so?

I haven't had my first interview yet. I applied on the 29th and I am still waiting. All I know is that the deadline has pasted and they told me that I should know by the end of next week, if not sooner. I would assume that everyone would get a chance and interview for one of the positions. As long as you qualify and you did good as a CP, why wouldn't they want to interview you? I hope I am not assuming wrong.

It all depends on what they are looking at and how competitive your resume is, and comparing all the applicants. Good Luck!!

has anyone been called for a second interview with management operations, guest relations, or college and international programs coordinator for the mk?

haha just starting to stress out a little :)

So, I think the woman I interviewed with first misinformed me because she said I would be having an interview with a particular department, but it turned out to just be the first interview (where they pass on the info to the hiring managers and after that you wait, wait, wait and hope for a call). Hmm... either way, I am happy it went well because my information will be forwarded on!!!!!! :) :) :)

(Just for info's sake, because I know I wonder the same thing when I read these boards: I applied on Feb 18, got a call on March 4, did my "first round" interview last night on March 10. Also, I am going for International Recruiting, International Media Relations, and Guest Relations! :) )

So now it REALLY begins... ahhhh!!! :scared1: The waiting game...

I haven't had my first interview yet. I don't know how long I need to hold out before I give up on it.

I applied on January 31st so I'm thinking I'm not going to get one. It's strange, I thought I was extremely qualified :confused3

You may want to try and emailing them, They may be able to give you more information on why you have not gotten a call yet.

same thing happened to me! she told me that it was an interview for college and international programs coordinator, but when i got the call it was a general screening interview for all three. do you think this means that that's the area that initially saw and pulled your resume? or that that's the area they're forwarding you on to? i just really don't understand this whole process haha

I have no idea, but someone else told me it happened to them too. Maybe they didn't see my other applications and just thought I was going for one??? I have no idea... I just hope this means I am still in the running for ALL of them. :)

Wow...we totally applied for the same internships. No 2nd round yet. Let me know if you hear anything!

Lama and Junglebot-
When I was in orlando a few weeks ago I stopped by casting (before my first interview) and they told me that I was already being reviewed for 2 of the 3 internship I applied for, but when I spoke to the lady on the phone during my interview they said I was being looked at for all 3 at that point. I think that the hiring managers see our stuff earlier than we are all thinking at least for some depts... (mine are marketing and event planning related) So I would bet that by the time your interview rolled around that the other deptments were considering you also! Good Luck!

Hi, Uuaww! Welcome to DIS!

Unfortunately, the deadline for the Fall 2008 PIs was March 7th. But, if I were you, I'd check out www.disneycareers.com and keep a look out for the Spring 2009 Professional Internships. I think they should be posted by the end of the summer. That way, you'll be ready to apply before the masses do! :)

Recruiting candidates for this internship for June 2008. Internship begins in June 2008 and ends in January 2009. The deadline to apply for this position is April 4th, 2008. The application process for this internship, including candidate communication and hiring decisions will be completed by May 16, 2008. Im applying for this one.

Ok. Sorry about that. Most of the internship we were applying for had a deadline of March 7th. There are so many departments involved, it's kind of hard to keep up with it. So, go for it and good luck.

ah, lucky im a science guy i guess haha. i really want the plant science one.
