Fake sign language interpreter at Mandela's memorial

I doubt that he has schizophrenia. I do think he has MOXIE for pulling that stunt and then trying to excuse it all by saying he has schizophrenia. :p

Probably but I dont know if it was confirmed or not that he was hospitalized for a year for mental illness. Dont remember whether the radio said he reported that or they found that out from some other source.

Jimmy Kimmel had an interpreter on last night that tried to interpret a small portion of what this guy said:

"hello welcome so far, well cigerette joint. bringing in different to you, circle. I would like to pray this offering, basically this is fun all these balls to prove this is good Im sorry." :rotfl2:

Wow.

I would say that South Africa gets a TOTAL FAIL for security of our nation's leaders!!!

Grrrr....:headache::mad::headache:

National security is a totally separate issue than someone being incompetent to do the job they are hired for. If that is the case, then people working at McDonalds would be considered national security risks. :p

The man did not pull out any weapons or threaten any of the leaders he was standing next to.

If the security team did their job, then the guy had no prior arrests, was not part of any organization or international watchlists that would pose him as a potential danger to any of the world leaders there. And supposedly, everyone should have been searched on the way in for weapons.

His credibility is pretty shot now. So I doubt anything coming out of HIS mouth. I think he was a con man who wanted to make $85 that day.

The fact that not one single person knew this guy was a fake interpreter scares me, and boggles my mind.

Look at this picture:

I may disagree with the POTUS on things, but this kind of security risk is unacceptable. The guy was within arm's length of not only our nation's leader, but other leaders from the global community. Bad things could have happened.

I agree. It was a HUGE security risk that could have had terrible consequences.

Now the guy is claiming he has schizophrenia. Man up and admit it, you're a fraud and always have been.

The security issue isn't specifically about this one man; the issue is that the SA govt. failed in terms of due diligence when hosting so many heads of state at a public venue.

This issue is, if the "interpreter" lied about his professional credentials, what else might he have lied about that might have been more critical? Not only his medical history, but his name, perhaps? The fact that he wasn't operating under a completely false identity was apparently sheer dumb luck for the security folks.

It also begs the question of who else might have gotten access to the platform without proper security clearance? I suspect that many people in the SA govt are getting strips taken off their hides over this today. Note this quote from the NBC story:

Jackson Mthembu, a spokesman for the ruling National African Congress party, told NBC News Thursday that he was concerned that Jantjie’s qualifications or medical history had apparently not been taken into account before he was given close access to world leaders at the government-organized event.

"We are not aware that he was being treated for [schizophrenia]. He did not disclose it. That is another thing that is concerning to us because we are having this information for the first time," Mthembu said. "This man was close to many presidents, including our own. We are worried about when we have procured him for activities for our own services. That is what we are concerned about."

I was just listening about this on the radio and they said the hiring company has vanished and cant be located. Paid him $85.00 which was lower than the normal rate and he was suppose to be switched out every 20 minutes with a new interpreter.

He was suppose to have a doc appointment that day to see if his meds were working (dont think so) :lmao: because he was hearing voices and seeing angles flying into the arena while he was signing.
oh and he claims the hiring company knew about his mental illness.

I believe he was using the "I was hallucinating and seeing angels flying into the arena" as the excuse for his incomprehensible signing.

No, but you don't need weapons to be violent, but he, by his own admission, gets violent "a lot". Combined with his (possibly) undertreated schizophrenia, that is a potential security disaster.

:lmao: Oh my gosh, that should be printed on t-shirts!!
