Fake animals in AK?

Mskanga, I love that picture! My very little tiger sleeps like that all the time.

I agree that the gazelle looks awfully fake. But, I'd like to think there is a reason for it as others suggested.

Just wanted to double check with Josh and Colleen about the location the photo was taken....posted as Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, I want to make sure this wasn't, in fact, taken over in Asia at the Maharaja Jungle Trek?
The more I look at the photo, the more the animal appears to be Blackbuck Antelope, found in grasslands of India -not Thompsons Gazelle of Africa (see photo of blackbuck here)

Tommies are very small and sleek, somewhat shorter forelegs, and very straight horns. Those in Josh's photos look a little too 'pudgy' to me. Just want to know which trail I'm heading to to investigate

The Lion roared at us and chased our vehicle. I can assure you he is not fake!

I am with PandyPaws that is not a Tommie. (My goal in life is to drive the Safari truck, so I study up on this LOL!)

By the way I asked on the Ostrich eggs. I was told they are real, but there is no male Ostrich so they don't get fertilized and just pile up there.

We went back and looked at the video and there are tigers right before it. So, you are correct, it is in Asia. It must be a fake Blackbuck Antelope.

OK, here it is...I went and spent the afternoon at AK with the kids today...

Your blackbuck is definately real I spent quite a while in front of the same grassy area as in your photo, chatting with the CM there. I saw him for myself, along with several females, and watched them for quite some time...trust me, they are all as real as can be. There never have been any fake antelope in there. I only wish I'd had a camera along with me, he is a beautiful animal

PandyPaws....Did you by chance see any of the animals on the JC over in the MK?
If not, could you check it out and report back to us on those animals?
I would like to know for my next trip because if they are fake I am going to skip this ride.

When we were there in October, I would swear there was an ape/gorilla somewhere that was fake. He did not move AT ALL for about 10 minutes. I'm not sure where it was, but my SIL and I still laugh about it.

Slightly off topic, but...speaking of fake => DH and I argued for a good month after our honeymoon about Hall of Presidents in MK. I SWORE that they were real men, not animatronics. I always thought, Wow, it's so nice that all those old men get to retire to Disney and play American Presidents. How nice!

Yep - that's her! She's usually on the pathway between Asia and Africa.

You are SO right about this!! I was going to respond and then I though 'there is NO WAY people think those are real"--so I didn't respond. So glad that someone else couldn't decipher the sacasam from an actual question!!
