It's a neat Captain America hanger. I told her that the little CA will hang out with her until her Wish Trip when she gets to hang out with the real CA. :goodvibes

She put it on her continuous monitor she wears around her neck.

Thank you to the sweet DIS member who sent this to her. It really brightened her day! :flower3:

YaY for Pixie Dust!!!!!!

Ok, with the happy news that her guys (Washington Nationals) will be playing a Spring Training game against the Braves during our trip, I have had to tinker with our itinerary.

We know that date of the game but not the time. Historically the games are either 1pm or 6pm so I have made 2 plans for that day. We won't know for sure until Dec of the actual time.

So....pin trading. I can see that this would be something that Faith would probably enjoy. But I also see that the "rules" of pin trading are that a child should not point to the pin they are hoping to trade for. I don't think Faith would have the verbal skills to explain which pin she would like to trade for nor would she remember not to point.

How have y'all dealt with this? :confused3

I pin trade and find that CMs are very understanding. Would faith understand not to take it off? I think that's the big thing, the CM has to take it off the lanyard.

I have a few extra pins that I will send to you if you want to get faith started.

I think she would know not to take the pin off, but she would need to point to it. That is crazy-sweet of you to offer to give Faith some starter pins. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes: I hope your DisneyLand trip is going well. Two more days until the marathon!!!!

When we go to our local Childrens Hospital, Faith always plays with the lone Mr. Potato Head in the waiting area. He's a raggedy thing with almost no matching parts...but she loves him.

I was reading about how in DTD there is a place to get a box of Potato Head parts....all you can fit in the box! That gave me an awesome countdown idea!

I found a great big box of Disney Potato Head parts (and a couple bodies of course) on Ebay.

DH and I are going to go through the box and try and match up outfits. As soon as we figure out how many outfits we have, we will count back that many weeks and then give Faith an outfit each week! And give her the body with the first outfit.

We are also going to give the additional body and any duplicate parts we come across to the Childrens Hospital. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:

After sorting through that big box, I have put together 10 outfits and put aside a big box of duplicate pieces to give to our local Childrens Hospital. :)

Looks like Operation Potato Head Countdown will start on Dec 22nd! :thumbsup2

So after being in Disneyland for five days the CMs have been very relaxed about pin trading. I often pointed to a pin only because they were half paying attention to me. Lol a few times I even took the pins off myself. I think if you think she'd enjoy it definitely go ahead and do it with her. Let me know and I can send some pins along.

Waiting to head to the airport now but I'll be back to respond tomorrow!

That would be amazing! Thank you very much! :goodvibes:

How did the marathon go??

PM me your address and I'll put together a little package of pins. Might be a few days before I can get them out. Trying to catch up on a bunch of stuff before the weekend!!

The marathon went well. The wind was really bad and made it tough but I still did it. I'm going to try to get my trip report started soon!

Oh! Sorry I'm slow today... if you go to get the Mr Potato Head box filled with pieces don't buy the body again if you already have it. You can get a lot more pieces in that box if you don't buy the body. If you do decide to buy the body make sure to fill the body up with pieces before you put him in the box. Might as well get the most for your money!

I have a question about GKTW and older siblings. I understand that each day there will be "treats" left in the villa for the Wish Kid (which is sooooo awesome!) :thumbsup2 and on TR that I've read with younger siblings, it looks like they were not left out. My question is would my older kids also have little treats? They are 18, 20, and 22 but are listed on our GKTW paperwork as "siblings".

I know they are technically adults, but they are still my babies.

Ever since Faith was born, everything has been dependant on her health. We have cancelled so many vacations, I have had to miss school plays, baseball games, marching band parades. Birthday parties have been scrapped, they rarely got to have friends stay over.....

and they NEVER ONCE complained. They had to grow up much too fast and I would love for them to be able to experience a bit of Pixie Dust while on this trip also.

If they don't have any little surprises left at the same time Faith does, then I will bring some and leave it for them when we leave each day.

So I am wondering....do I need to bring little things or are adult siblings sprinkled with Pixie Dust also? :goodvibes

Hi! I'm new to the boards. We are leaving for our MAW trip Dec. 18th, so I am trying to wrap my head around all of this now! Your daughter is beautiful! I have enjoyed reading your pre trip report so far, and am inspired to start my own. I was wondering if you found an answer to your question about gifts for the siblings? I have an 8 yo DD that has really been through a lot emotionally through our journey over this past year, and I really want this trip to be as special for her as it is for Mollie Jean (my wish kid :)).

This is only my second post, so I will tell you (and others) more about us in future posts!

In previous posts I mentioned how much Faith loves baseball and getting the players to sign her baseballs. We have actually used it as a way for her to initiate social interaction. She must ask the players herself for the signature. After one or two encounters with Faith, most of the players recognise her and they help by asking her questions (after I clue them in that we are working on social interactions).

The only player she wouldn't ask was Jayson Werth because his beard scared her. I don't blame her....that beard is fierce! :lmao:

Anyways.... we bought our little house here in PA with the intentions of taking out the carpet and putting in wood floors. We only do one room at a time and it was Faith's rooms turn!

I started clearing her room out to prep. As I started moving furniture I found these! She has baseballs in cases. She has baseballs on shelves. These are not the ones "put up". These were balls she had stashed under things! I wonder if we have a hoarding situation developing. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

The girl loves getting autographs. I can't wait to see her excitement when she gets to start getting characters autographs! :thumbsup2:banana::banana::banana:

We have lots of fun with our Potato Heads too (and my kids are around the same ages as your older kids!). We've filled a couple of boxes of parts now so there's a good selection depending on the season and mood of the person doing the creating. If you get the right CM, they will be really helpful in getting the box as full as possible!

Oh I totally agree. I don't remember ever seeing a ball player with much of a beard at all and that one was quite something and I was only seeing it from my seat. I can't imagine being a little girl and being up close! I would have been hiding way behind my dad if that ever happened.

He was really sweet and didn't push it. She kept readjusting herself to keep S. Souza in between her and J. Werth. :rotfl2:

Now that we know the time of the game between the Braves and Nats at ESPN, we are tinkering with our itinerary again. I have also switched DHS/Epcot day with US/Harry Potter day. I found out the there was going to be EMH at HS on the day we were going to be there. Since Jedi Training Academy was a big thing she wants to do, I didn't want to chance her not getting in.

(I actually has a nightmare about it! I was running her in her wheelchair trying to get to the sign ups and her tires kept melting so we could barely move! Too much Disney on the brain.)

I know, right???? I had NO idea! Every place we have ever lived before (and being a retired military family...it's a lot) Halloween was on Halloween. Isn't that what Halloween is for?

To trick or treat....

on Halloween??? :confused::confused::confused:

I'm just glad I was able to come up with the Hershey Park plan and that it all fell into place for it on such short notice.

I know what you mean ours is always 31 but this year since the 31 is on Friday and it happens to coincide with high school footballs games, the Mayor decided to hold Trick or Treat on 30.
