F&W and the dining plan question

I am trying to decide whether to not to get the dining plan. Usually I don't bother because every time I calculate it, there is not much savings if any. Plus I tend to eat less on vacation. Anyway, if you change your QS for snacks can you get two of one item or does it have to be 3 different items from the food booth? Is alcohol included in the 3 items or is it just food items?

You can get more than one of the same item. Alcohol does not count. And it also has to be done in the same transaction (i.e. 3 items from the same booth).

For my family the DDP is worth it when we go during a festival and use our snack credits there. Otherwise we end up with a bunch of extra snacks and don't really get our money's worth.

Worth it for F&W but not so much for the rest of the trip unless you can add just one or two days of dining plan, which I thought you could do.

Dining plan is all or nothing, you can’t do just a few days. But it’s easy to use up quite a few snack credits by snacking at the food booths throughout the day.

Not sure what you mean by "one beverage." You get a beverage with your QS credits and you get a refillable mug, but you don't get an extra beverage anywhere.

Thanks everyone. I think it may be worth it for us because of the F&W. Plus we would only have it for the first 4 nights but will be able to use it for 5 days since we are moving to another hotel instead of leaving.

If we purchase the QS plan we will have a total of 50 snack credits between the both of us if we used all the meal credits as snacks. Is that correct? And the cost would be about $525.00?

All QS meals plus the 2 snacks you get would be 8 snacks per night per person, so that would be 60 snacks.

However, remember, you have to use the QS credit at one place in one transaction, so 3 snacks at one time. You also forfeit the alcoholic drink if you do it this way.

Right - if your plan is to convert all of the QS meals to snacks, you would have to use 1 QS on 3 snacks at the same booth at the same time. Unfortunately you can't just opt to change the QS to snacks and have them available to use separately.

If I exchange both meals for snacks that would get me 6 snack credits correct? Then the 2 snack credits per night would be 8. If I were there for five nights wouldn’t it be 8 snacks x 5 nights = 40 snack credits? Then x2 for me and DH? Total of 80. Am I doing this wrong?

No, you are correct. My jet lag brain wasn't multiplying 8 x 5 properly. Thank you for clearing this up. That's A LOT of snacks!!

Of course. Your QS credits will all be QS credits. You simply choose what you want to use them for to pay: 3 snacks at one time or a QS meal.
Also, they are ALL available to use as soon as you check in, so you don't have to use them 2 a day, you could use 1 or 3 or 5 in one day.
