Eye Exam Places?

My DBF doesn't have insurance, but where is a reasonable place to get an eye exam and glasses. His vision is so bad and causing awful headaches...
I need to get him somewhere soon..

Eyemart Express - If I remember they quoted me $40.00 for the exam.

Now as far as the frames go - CHEAP doesn't even begin to cover the quality of their frames. It is very much a you get what you pay for quality. We looked at several pairs and there wasn't a single pair that would have lasted me more than 6 months.

I have used Lens Crafters in the past. If you are a AAA member, you get 30% off exam and glasses. I have also used Walmart and wasn't as happy. I have a feeling both places can be hit or miss dependent upon the opticians.

The posters on the budget board suggest www.zennioptical.com for cheap glasses. As for the doctor to go to, just call around and see who is cheapest. We go to Eyeglasses World. He charges 59 for a regular exam and 89 for a contact exam. Around here that is really cheap.
