I saw PE last night with my DD's. All 3 of us liked it......and loved Johnny in it!!!!

There are some sex scenes - but no nudity, everything is implied.

The violence is there & to be expected considering the topic. There were a couple of close up shots of "aftermath" that were pretty graphic. The type of thing that makes you say "yep, they must have hit an artery". Not too bad.

Language - I really didn't notice it too much....to busy looking at Johnny.

It is one I will probably buy when it comes out on DVD.

My younger daughter (17) didn't know who John Dillinger was though - she was kind of disappointed with the ending!

mmmm- But when he does the eccentric roles- I think he might lose some people that like him for his tremendous serious acting abilities. Fine- he can act weird, but I would much rather see him doing mostly down and dirty serious roles.

DH really likes JD as an actor, but only in his regular movies. He refuses to watch anything JD has done for Tim. He won't watch POTC (but he will go with me to see them on the big screen) I do admit, I love his Jack character, HOWEVER- after 2- sorry- no can do. And- I think they are pushing it with 4 It just too commercial for my liking now.

I do not agree that his weird roles make him who he is at all He can do Hunter like nobody's business! I think the weird roles attract the younger crowd. I look at those roles as kind of a "pit stop" along the way to his real job! I do not want to think of PE or Fear and Loathing as something he "threw in" I like to think of the Tim roles as being "thrown in"

I find it funny when someone says they like JD and you ask them if they have ever seen Fear and Loathing and they say, 1- never heard of it or 2- it was really stupid. I think it is some of JD's most brilliant work. (Just MHO!)

Remember, this is all just MY opinion!

Oh, no! I hated Fear and Loathing! My son loves it, but I just hated watching it. That and Sweeny Todd are the only movies JD movies I will not watch over and over and over. Its funny how fans of any actor will have such different likes and dislikes in their work.

I loved Donnie Brasco, Once Upon a Time in Mexico (well, that one was a bit between strange and serious),Secret Window and Benny and Joon.

I do agree that the stranger roles do tend to turn people away from Johnny. When someone finds out how much I adore him, they always say "but he is so WEIRD!" Then I show them a few pics and maybe share a movie or two--and bingo, bango they become fans too .

My 13 year old does not understand my "connection" with JD! If anyone has read his issue, let me know if I missed anything really good, I can always read it at the library.
