ohhhh. I misunderstood your pp. I thought you were going Friday! Thats the night I am planning to go. Have fun tonight!! Don't give any spoilers but please come back and tell me how wonderful it is. (I know it will be wonderul, it has to be with JD in it!)

I know what you mean about good seats. At our local theatre the greatest seats are in the middle and toward the top--makes you feel like you are in the middle of the action! You just have to get there early to get those seats! When we saw Pirates 3, the first time, we got stuck at the very bottom right at the screen :scared1:. We all had sore necks before the movie was over.

No spoilers from me! Promise!

I am skeered b/c DH does not get out of work until 6! He still has to come home, shower, and then we have to get to the theater- the movie starts at 7!!!:scared1:

Yup- I have to sit towards the back. I like the end so when I have to pee I do not have to climb over people:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Do you know what I was thinking after the movie- how can I give away spoilers when it is a true story?:rotfl2:

I thought the movie was very good- NOT exceptional- but very good. This is coming from a JD fan who can honestly say I HATED Sweeney Todd and did not care at all for POTC/AWE.

JD looked hot the entire time!:thumbsup2

I like JD in these kinds of roles- this is very weird, but at one point JD was in jail and talking to Melvin Purvis through the bars, he looked very, mmmmm, "maniacal" I whispered to DH- JD would play an awesome serial killer!:scared1: He just had that look and attitude.

I wish Tim Burton and Gore Verbinski
would stay out of his life so JD can do some REAL movies! I am looking forward to The Rum Diary

Marion played a good part. I liked her as Billie. I have been blasting her here, but she did well in the movie.

I hate Christian Bale no matter what he does! I cannot get the sounds of him yelling at the movie crew guy out of my head!! He is an @-hole!:sad2:

I love Giovanni Ribisi- but he only showed up twice.

I would like to see a biography of John Dillinger, I did not know that much about him, well, I knew he was PUBILC ENEMY NO. 1 !! But I would like to see his life story.

Publc Enemies was a really good movie and even my DH enjoyed it a lot :lmao:

Johnny looked great throughout it and really made Dillinger come to life.

The scene in Biograph theater was awesome, Dillinger really thought he was the Gable of the gangster world and the way they filmed that was great.

This is one movie i will definitely be buying when it comes out on DVD. There was so much to see in the film I know one viewing is not enought to catch it all.

I didn't like Sweeny Todd either! Just too weird even for him. I did love all the Pirate movies (the scene with him in Davey Jones' locker was kinda strange but once AWE got past that part, I loved it) Actually my favorite JD movie is Donnie Brasco, so I was hoping this was going to be a serious role like that one.

I am so glad to hear PE is good. I think I have dh talked into going tonight!! :yay: Actually he says I should just go by myself since I don't even know he's in the world once JD hits the screen :rotfl:.

I could certainly watch the movie over and over again too! I will get it on DVD.

DH said he liked it, but it was alittle long.

I loved the movie.

The Good:

Johnny Depp looks amazing for being in his 40's.
He played an amazing John Dillenger, and was very convincing.
The woman who played Billie was fantastic as well. (Hello young lovers?)

The Bad:
It got drawn out at some points.
It had Christian Bale in it, whom I can't stand because he is an @hole.
Did I mention it was too long?

I was really surprised at this film. It was lovely, and Johnny made you want Dillenger to keep getting away with it.

Overall a really good performance by him and his love interest.

I cannot wait for the Rum Diaries...

And I beg to differ, I love that Johnny sticks with his friends and does some eccentric films, that's what makes him Johnny Depp!

I have to say that his movies with Tim Burton really are what makes him Johnny Depp and the type of actor that he is. I loved Edward Sissorhands and Sleepy Hollow, but otoh I do get tired of these types of movies and love to see something like this one thrown in every once in awhile.

I'm bringing up some of my old favorites because there is too much chatter going on here!!!!

LOL, I'm not really mad, just thought I'd post some pictures because I'm about to contribute to the chatter.

mmmm- But when he does the eccentric roles- I think he might lose some people that like him for his tremendous serious acting abilities. Fine- he can act weird, but I would much rather see him doing mostly down and dirty serious roles.

DH really likes JD as an actor, but only in his regular movies. He refuses to watch anything JD has done for Tim. He won't watch POTC (but he will go with me to see them on the big screen) I do admit, I love his Jack character, HOWEVER- after 2- sorry- no can do. And- I think they are pushing it with 4:sad2: It just too commercial for my liking now.

I do not agree that his weird roles make him who he is at all:sad2: He can do Hunter like nobody's business! I think the weird roles attract the younger crowd. I look at those roles as kind of a "pit stop" along the way to his real job!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I do not want to think of PE or Fear and Loathing as something he "threw in" I like to think of the Tim roles as being "thrown in"

I find it funny when someone says they like JD and you ask them if they have ever seen Fear and Loathing and they say, 1- never heard of it or 2- it was really stupid. I think it is some of JD's most brilliant work. (Just MHO!;))

Remember, this is all just MY opinion!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Ok, for those that have seen PE, what made it an R rating?

My son and I are traveling this weekend so I won't have anyone I can leave him with. I'd love to be able to see the movie this weekend, but I can't go without him.

I do restrict movies and video games that are rated PG13, Teen or Mature, but have been flexible in allowing some slid through, such as Star Wars and Pirates.

:lmao: Sorry for the "great Depp debate" Monica:rotfl2:

But- as I am talking about JD- I am picturing him in my head- does that count?? Probably not b/c you all can't see what I am seeing:lmao:

But then again- like you said before- this IS a family board, so let's keep that in the pea brain popcorn:::rotfl2:

Wow- I am not sure. I don't rememeber nudity or cursing, but I am immune to those immoral things:laughing:- It could be the violence:confused3

Monica- I just checked Wiki

In the United States Public Enemies has received an MPAA rating of R for gangster violence and some language
