Extremely Rude Guests

Europeans and Asians seems like a huge generalization (Two full continents of diverse cultures). It contains so many groups of people. Quite honestly the Germans, British, and Asians I have encountered have been well behaved and civilized. In fact, more so than a lot of Americans you run across.
If you want me to be exact, just say so! :)

The "Asians" were Korean but I don't know if it was north or south, sorry if I offend any one for not knowing. The could have also been from the eastern border of China too...

And the "Europeans" were of Austrian or Duch decent. I cannot be sure though...

May I ask what type of Americans you fin most rude? (Floridians, Texans, Mainers, New Yorkers, Californian's, etc) I want to know, because you might offend someone by making such a big generalization of "Americans". Please, think before you hot send.

I'd like to complain about your complaint about the popcorn:: emoticon. It is THE BEST, and your complaining is very biased against popcorn-eating, fun-loving message board users everywhere (except Brazil, where they also hate the popcorn emoticons). :snooty:
Your post made me fall in love with the once hated popcorn: man. I never thought it would happen, lol!:lmao:

ANYWAYS, I don't think I can call any race more rude than another, but the Europeians and Asian drive me nuts. I have had wonderful experiences with both, but I get so many rude experiences from there two groups of people.

Thank you very much. I'll remember this the next time when we take the bus. I will not stand up for an elderly person or a pregnant lady although I'm fighting cancer.

I will smile at those American parents that let there children who are so obviously so special sit and let disabled persons hang on to the handrails.

And next time I see Americans smoke on there balcony in the hotel I will think thank god I'm a non smoking person from another country but I know how to behave and won't say a word just close the doors of my balcony.

Now please take an

and remember that not everyone from another country is rude.

This is the reason I warned for these kind of topics. They always end in bashing and generalizing whole continents.

we were in Epcot last month waiting for Illuminations right in front of France. I have 3 kids and my mom with me so we were waiting at the railing. I had put my stroller sideways to save a spot for my daughter who was playing with another child while waiting. This family comes up 5 minutes before it starts and their DS who is at least 12 steps over my stroller to stand at the railing. I said, "excuse me that is for my daughter", he looks right at me and says well you can move it over there behind you, I wanted to make a rude comment but instead just told him he couldn't stand there. So he goes behind me to his family & then his sister who is at least 6 does the same fricking thing. I said to her the same thing goes, you can't stand there. To top it off I wanted to strangle my DD when she said no I don't want to stand there, I want to be by grandma. I could have let them in and if they had asked in the first place, I may have. The entire show their parents make comments about me & I really wanted to turn around and tell them where to go but at the same time didn't want my kids see me behave that way. Where do people get off with coming 5 minutes before a show and expecting great seats? If you want your kids to have a front row seat, then you had better be willing to sit there awhile.

This is why we don't do parades or fireworks anymore at WDW.

FWIW, the same thing happened to us at a 4th of July parade yesterday. We got there early, put our portable chairs out, and waited (in the seats). Great seats. Didn't matter. Some kids came up five minutes before the parade started and stood in front of us.

We left - and went to the very quiet bookstore. It was just as much fun but reminded me of why I don't do parades.

I was at Animal Kingdom alone with my kids in May 2005 - hubby was working in Orlando that week so the kids and I tagged along to enjoy the parks while he worked. There was a steep walkway and the double stroller containing by 5 yo and 2 yo was hard to control. I accidentally bumped the heels of a guy in front of me and although I immediately apologized, he started screaming profanities at me in front of my kids. He was young, early 20's or so, but honestly I was ready to pop him one. Instead, I said "Hey, I apologized so take it or leave it and have a fabulous day!" I think that pissed him off even more. :rotfl2:

See if you had run over my heels I would not have minded...:) Im reasonable... apologize and I totalllly understand accidents happen :)

Again, I've had great experiences with them, but these two groups of people really leaft me with a bad taste in my mouth.

By the way, "European" isn't a race. They're people from England, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, etc.

In May, during one of those wild rain storms, we were waiting for the bus for CSR and a family in front of us got on the bus and told the driver to take them to the YC- the driver politely explained that he wasnt going there and there was a boat to get to the YC, ( apparently it wasnt running at the moment bec of the weather) and the man wents NUTS! Yelling swearing, saying he was going to report the driver , on and on and on. Geesh, take a cab, there were tons of them in the parking lot waiting.

We were grabbing a snack at Sommerfest in the German pavilion on our last trip. My husband and daughter were in line for pretzels and brats, and I went to grab a table. I was just steps from the table when this mom directed her kids to run to get the table. They pushed ahead of me and plopped down in the seats. Mind you, they came from behind me and could see I was headed to the table. I just stood there in front of the table and said, "That didn't just happen." I was floored. For the record, they were American (so am I).

I couldn't believe she deliberately directed her kids to swipe the table. Of course, it wasn't "MY" table, but it was clear she knew I was going to sit at the table and she wanted to prevent that. It was the last table, so we stood and ate our food, while the mom carefully avoided eye contact with us. To make matters worse, they were way back in the line, so they didn't even get their food until after we were done eating. We could have been done with our food and handed the table over to them and everything would have worked out fine for both families if she hadn't been such a jerk.

We have also encountered agressive tour groups. I think their behavior has less to do with their nationality and more to do with their relative lack of adult supervision. My daughter is exceptionally well-behaved when she's with me, but I have no illusions about how she'd behave with 20 other little girls and little to no adult supervision.

I also encountered two young ladies (Americans as well) employing the "my family's up ahead" gambit. This was in the line for Tink, so it was plenty annoying. I let them pass, but we discussed our skepticism with the family next to us for the remainder of our wait. If this happens again, I will tell them that they can go find their family if accompanied by a CM. Otherwise, no.

I have also seen a young (American) lady badgering a CM to let her go to the front of a line because "it's my birthday". To my disgust, it worked. Maybe it was because she pointed to her birthday button? :confused3 She was tipsy and giggly, but the smirk on her face seemed to indicate she knew she was getting away with something. Blech.

I think this thread has run it's course and it's time to be closed.

Goodbye, thread.
