As is was searching for a room near universal, since we are doing 2 days there prior to our August vacation at CBR. I came across some unbelievable rates at some of disneys best and most expensive resorts.
Some examples are Saratoga springs & Old key west=177$/Animal kingdom & wilderness lodge =144$/Boardwalk inn & Villas=204$ POP=57$/Coronado springs=108$ ,these are per night, but I should warn everyone with these rates they are not able to add free dining. For those of you who don't usually get the dining plan or are willing to fore go it,in order to get a deluxe resort, than this is a great deal!! I would have booked it myself but DH is not willing to give up free dining. The site is Travelocity and search for orlando or on the bottom select WDW resorts. Good Luck !!!

But when you actually booked, did it stay the same rate for every night or did it change, as that is how a lot of these sites do it. You do a 6 night stay, and they quote you the lowest night rate on the main screen, but when you book, it breaks it down by day and peak days are decidely more than that special rate you saw.

Actually, I am finding these exact same rates on Disney's website. If you click on the Summer Special Rate (40% off deluxe resorts).

I was able to reserve either WL or AKL for $144 per night, and you can add on theme park tickets and dining plan with no problem. That price is a standard view at those two resorts, but they have good rates on all views.

My favorite was AKL club level for $210 per night. The savanna view bunk bed was $207, so for $3 more you receive club level!

The Beach Club had standard view rooms for $204 per night. Beach Club Villas has a deluxe studio for $204 per night, too. Great rates at BLT and CR and POLY--no problem adding on tickets or dining plan.

I was able to book a room at Pop Century for $57.40 per night. Can't beat that!

Rates like that are good alright. But Travelocity and sites like that are not good for resort switchers, those who cancel, want a dining plan, etc.
People who use them just need to make sure to read about what they are paying for, rather than change their minds later.

HI,when I hit the book button,it did quote me the same price for all nights I searched, and the tickets were not just multiday they were hoppers, all in all for me it was almost the same as the package I already have, but I was getting hoppers instead of one day tkts. And it's true if you think you might switch resorts or change your mind a lot then it's definitely not for you. I know my room at CBR is costing me more than 73$ a night through disney's website, but I wanted the free dining and thats what I got. :yay:

Those are the same prices as the WDW site. It's the Summertime Savings offer

Summertime Savings of up to 40% at Select Disney Resort Hotels

Now you can save up to 40% at select Disney Resort hotels through October 2, 2010.

For example, stay in a standard room at select Disney Value Resorts most Sunday to Thursday nights for just:

* $102 per night plus tax from June 4 through July 1 and July 5 through August 14, 2010.
* $58 per night plus tax from August 15 through September 30, 2010.

i looked at travelocity and i am only getting 101.00 for a value resort = what am i doing wrong?

As of this morning I checked travelocity and compared the prices to disneys website ,a pool view at AKL for 6 nights with 7 day tkts was 2363$ on wdw website and was 2301$ on travelocity, that might not seem like a significant savings to some people, but the difference is that on travelocity they are including HOPPERS at this price!! This would work well for if you have always wanted to stay at a certain deluxe or moderate,I think for the values ,you would be getting a better deal with free dining promo.

i looked at travelocity and i am only getting 101.00 for a value resort = what am i doing wrong? /As far as i can see the rates for the values has only increased from 57$ to 60$,what dates are you searching for is it value season or sooner??

I was snooping around travelocity, too. I moved our flight up a day thinking I would just add to our stay at POP with free QSDP. Once I saw the great prices for the deluxe, I knew our plans were changing. I ended up booking through the Disney site (as PP mentioned, you have to go through the summer savings link). We booked a pool view room at AKL for $168 with tax. So pumped!
