Extreme Makeover: TAGLIARCHY Edition

Hey everybody long time no see!
I've been sick for the past 2 day, yuck.
But I am feeling much better now.
So how is everyone??

Yesterday was filled with lots of chores and errands
One of them was my first physical therapy for my knees
The therapists taped my kneed to keep my knee caps in place, and boy does it feel weird. When I first stood up, I told the therapists that I felt like I had wobbly sealegs like Captain Jack Sparrow - she laughed
The tape stays on until Friday.


Today is a day of cleaning house - I"m so not in the mood.
When are the free maids when you need them
Oh...that's right...you have to pay for them. I think I will do it myself


If you would all keep you my best friends 8yr old DD in your thoughts and prayers today, I would really appreciate it. She is being tested for Cystic Fibrosis (sp?) Poor thing!!! Her parents are very nervous, and I can understand, because I'm nervous too.




RRBB - That's great that you can travel!!!! and about you losing the pound . I gained about 35 pounds with both of my kids
**I sure hope everything works out on Sunday - keep us posted!!!

Slo--- pd for your PT!

I had cooked a chili in the slow cooker monday with us having leftover chili over potatoes last night. Last week, we used our crockpot to cook some frozen chicken with some lemon juice, fresh rosemary, and some dried herbs/spices.

RRBB I'm so happy that you can travel. We certainly could have told the inspection team about our boss! It amazes me that she is still in her job with no signs of being fired. I mean what other job would let you get away with being so bad but still influencing so many people? It makes me so mad!!

OK, so latest tale from my work (seriously I do not make this stuff up!). I mentioned about 4 weeks ago that a child in my class came in with a knife and waved it in front of other kids and staff. Well today the head calls me into the office and says we have been told by higher powers that we have to take him back!! So he is in class today laughing as if nothing had happened. Even the kids didnt want him there and asked why he was back.

Slo I hope your friends daughter is OK.

Well thats it for now. Its gone 11pm so I should go to bed. I would have been on earlier but the dis has been down for at least 4 hours !!

Hello everyone, we survived the Grand Canyon!

Actually, it was a very nice family getaway. We spent two nights at the Grand Canyon and one night at a cabin in the White Mountains. The kids did seem to have a good time, Elise did ask "When can we go back to Disneyland" twice, but all in all they had fun.

I need to remember Jessie has a vet appointment Monday---vets require dogs to be tested 2x a year for heartworm---we need to renew her prescription. We keep her on it year round. The poor thing has been having ear trouble the past week.

I have a proud mom moment to share with you all.

Last night was special person/grandparent night at Steph's school. I went with her, because they said only one grandparent, and I didn't want her to have to choose between my parents and my in-laws. So when we were there, one of Stephanie's friends says to me, "are you her mom?" I said, "yes". The little girl said to me, "she talks about you alot" and I said "is it nice things?" and she smiles and says "yes". Boy did that make me feel good Then Stephanie's art teacher told me how much of a joy she is, and how she's such a good child, and very good in art - that made me feel so good too I just wanted to share that with you all.

Jessie eats dry food (currently her favorite is Aplo's Come 'n Get It mixed grill). She is due up for some shots and through exam. There is a new law out where dogs now have to be tested for heartworm every 6 months in order to get a current prescription. She takes a chewable once a month. She has some seasonal allergies that affects her ears.

NC Beast had to go in to work today so I cooked him some breakfast. I stayed up asll night because I was worried that we would oversleep and mess up his schedule. He gets a 3 day weekend next week.

No big weekend plans---just the usual need to do household chores.

Good morning all. It's kind of gray and gloomy here, but it sure does feel nice outside so I'm not going to complain. OF and I were up bright and early this morning to put some furniture out for pick-up. (And now I'm falling asleep.) American Kidney Fund is supposed to come take it away some time today. And our neighbors added a few bags of clothes to the pile so AKF should be happy with their haul from us today.

This evening we're going to a ceremony for our maid. I'm not sure if it's a wedding, renewal, or what. The invitation says they've been together for 8 years and we're invited to "witness their love for each other by becoming one in Christ." Other than that we have a pretty quiet day planned.

Tomorrow, on the other hand, is POD DAY!!! The builder better not have forgotten about it again - I don't think OF let that happen with all the phone calls though. And then in the afternoon there's a family picnic at Ian's school with clowns and pony rides.

I'm making some progress in what will become Squirt's room. You can actually see the floor now. But there's still so much to clear out, including a couple of curio cabinets that we have no idea what to do with. Maybe in the next week or so we can start thinking about how we want to decorate that room. I want it to be just as fun as Ian's is.
