Any experts out there that have experienced Extra Magic hours? We only have 3 nights/days at WDW in Aug and my husband agreed to go at this time only because a friend of his (with teens) used this last summer. He said they let the kids sleep in, sat by the pool, hit the parks around 3 and did EMH at the parks when available. As it turns out, tentatively EMH will be for Epcot, MK and AK the three nights we are there. We have been to Disney before and we all tend to gravitate to rides as opposed to shows. Just curious if families with teens tour like this. H's friend said MK was open till almost 1 am and his kids had a blast. Do the extra magic hours really go this late?

I was just there with 2 teens (12 and 14). We took advantage of late EMH hours at MGM and MK. They were perfect for us. The kids were able to sleep in and I was able to just relax by the pool during the hot, busy part of the day. When we went to MK, we got there around 7 pm, rode some rides, watched the parade and Wishes. The park closed at midnight and we stayed another 2 hrs to ride the big rides with little to no wait at all. The boys were still going strong and riding the rides at night is a blast - especially ToT and BTMRR. I definitely recommend it!

The only thing that confuses me a bit is last August they didn't have evening/night EMH. If they stayed at the pool until 3pm-- then maybe they were using E-nights. Those are separate ticketed events.

In the summer w/ park hours being later-- the evening EMH will be much later too. This will allow onsite guests to enjoy the parks much later than usual. Last week the MK was open until 3am w/ EMH.

The difference being that w/ E-Nights you paid to get in-- which is going to discourage some people. The new night EMH is free, so you're going to have more onsite guests participating. Still a great way to tour the parks though. Just remember there are rides and attractions that don't operate during EMH.

We were there last month. I would go to the parks early with my little ones while the teens slept late. The teens would get up around noon and head to the pool and then met up with us for dinner somewhere in the parks. Then they would stay late for the emh nights. We would head back to the resort early while the teens stayed by themselves at the park. If I didn't have the little children, I probably would have stayed late at the parks with the teens.
