A seller on ebay is saying that Disney charges a renter of points $95 to extend all of the privileges of being a DVC owner to the renter. What on EARTH is he talking about?? :confused3 Of course, he also charges the winner $35 to "transfer the ressie to their name," so I'm guessing he's full of it.

Sounds like they have an I.I. (Interval International) exchange that they are renting. On I.I. exchanges, Disney does charge a $95 fee. Also, I.I. charges a $35 fee to transfer the exchange to another name.

FYI II trades are not supposed to be rented out.

I saw a DVC member renting a reservation on eBay and was charging $25 shipping. I wrote to ask him what he was shipping that would cost that much, but received no response.

I think that is why the DVC rental/trade no longer allows them here.

II will take away his membership for a while - if they find out.

I bet you didn't. It burns me up when ebay sellers try to scalp people with shipping. There are surely better ways to earn money!

ITA with the II transfer cost.
One other thing - IIRC, even when someone rents an owner's DVC points, there's no way that they could get "all the privileges of being a DVC owner", such as AP discounts, etc.

That's crazy. And unfortunately, some naive person is going to fall for it.
