Extra Evening Hours in August

Travel agents site shows as others have said, Tuesday the 15th Epcot, and Wednesday the 16th MK. No other evening EMH at any park, just Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. It kind of makes me glad that I'm not paying to stay onsite with so few evening EMH.
You are rubbing it in! We are staying at Boardwalk. This is supposed to be a treat to enjoy the resort and then coast into the parks and stay all night.

Sorry . . . didn't intend to rub it in lol. We are a family of 5, with our smallest one being a 5'8" 13 year old. In order to stay on Disney property, we have to go deluxe. I would have to cut my trip from 2 weeks to 1, or go every other year to do that. Offsite, we can get a 5 bedroom house for 2 weeks, so it just makes more sense to me. Add in the diminishing EMH, and the crazy long lines at the bus stops (at least they were pretty long at the POR bus stops the last time we stayed onsite) at the end of the night, plus the long walks from the bus stop back to our room, and standing room only on the bus half the time, and staying onsite loses some of it's appeal.

I wasn't sure if I would really like it, but we tried last summer, and it was amazing. I can get to my car, and drive back to the house in just about the same time it took to wait for a bus, and get back to the room. The walk to the car is no worse than the walk to the bus stop, and waiting in line for the bus, and when we get to the house, we don't have another long walk to our room. We have a full kitchen, multiple bathrooms so we can all get showered up and ready at the same time, a private screened in pool, and our own laundry so we can wash clothes every day.

Maybe at some point down the road, when the kids are out on their own, and it is just the wife and I (like that is ever going to happen lol) we will stay onsite again, but as long as I am travelling with a big family, I'll just continue to be thankful that I'm not suffering through no evening EMH while paying for onsite :)

Okay, so they just posted EEH on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings of our trip. Our day off was supposed to be Tuesday. I don't mind making changes so that we are off on Monday instead but I have Avatar Flight of Passage booked for Monday. I am afraid to cancel that fastpass to book on a different day. Is there anyway to check availability without losing your current passes? Obviously I have used all of my tickets so the system won't let me check.

Since no one else has answered you I'll give you a partial answer. Yes it is possible. No I don't remember how. I think you should ask in the fast pass thread

I'm still stuck at 9:00am - 9:30pm on Aug 30 and 9am -9pm on Sept 6 & 7.

I have 3 AK nights planned in order to do the park in the dark and I still don't think I'll be able to do all I'd like to do. It's frustrating. Why spend the money on this new land with a night time experience and then open offer limited hours? In late Aug into Sept full dark is no earlier than 8pm. If they need to cut back hours, why not open it later? open it at 11am and close at 11pm. That would be perfect. You could sleep in and be prepared to stay the whole day.

We spent 2 nights last year riding Everest, the safari and playing in Dinoland from 8pm - 11pm. (6 hours) Now add in Rivers of Light, Pandora and Kali (skipped last year) and how do we get to experience it in such short night hours? My 3 nights will only get me 3.5 hours of dark time.

Everest in the dark is not to be missed. It is awesome! If I have to cut something out, I think it will be the safari and ROL (even thought I managed to snag a dining package). Strangely, my kids are NOT willing to give up Dinoland. Last year I said no to the boardwalk game with the woolly mammoths. This year, it is bizarrely high on their list of things to do.

AK got updates today - EMH every night through Aug 19th? Reg hours extended until 10 as well... so AK is 8/9 to 12 with EMH at least until the 20th...

Ha! That's because it was a No last year... ;P

I guess the good news is, the releases seem to come in batches. It's not a definite no for my time-frame (Aug 26 - Sept 9) yet, but mostly likely if new hours get released it will be AFTER I book fast passes. I know I can't book FP+ during extra magic hours, but in general, I'll be less likely to want to switch my days around after I've made FP. The hours have not been increased for Labor Day weekend, and at least for the past 4 years, Disney has increased hours at MK on this weekend. I think there is likely another update coming.

I've noticed that Disney tends to treat the last week of August as part of Fall, instead of summer. Hours are usually different starting this week. Water parks close earlier, Fantasmic & Star Wars shows start earlier, MK closes earlier. It will not surprise me if extra magic hours at AK are offered on some nights, as opposed to all nights. I just can't guess which nights it will be.

From Aug 27 - Sept 2nd AK hours at 9 - 930pm, Sept 2 - Sept 9 AK hours 9am - 9pm
AK has early magic hours on Monday & Saturday only
Sunday is evening EMH at DHS
Tuesday is evening EMH at Epcot
Wednesday is evening EMH at MK
Tues & Fri are often MNSSHP at MK
Epcot open later on Friday & Sat once F&W starts

So, maybe Thursday? Hopefully, Thursday. I have two Thursdays planned, so that would work out really well for me.

Usually only once / week at MK & EP as long back as I can remember
I can remember:
June 2014
July 2015
March 2016
December 2016

And there were at least 2 nights. It wasn't necessarily the same times, but there were some times of 2 nights at MK. Epcot I only remember there being 1 night and there was also 1 night at HS.
