Extra dresser at AKL

Has anyone been able to figure out why some rooms at AKL have the extra dresser in front of the vanity area? We lucked out and had one in January and it really adds lots of extra space. I would like to request a room with the extra dresser for our summer stay and was wondering if anyone knows what rooms they are in. We were on the 2nd floor in a bunk room but a talked to another mom who had a bunk room but no extra dresser!! Any ideas? It may sound like a strange thing to value in a room, but with a family of 4 and staying for 9 nights the space would be great. Thanks, Nancy

If you have a connecting room, you will not get the dresser. You can request that you are not in one of the connecting rooms.

We were there 9 nights with no extra dresser. We didn't even know that some people had one until the housekeeper left the door open across the hall and I asked her about it. Our next trip, we asked the CM at the front desk to make sure we got a non-connecting room. :D

Not the case--we had a standard room connect to our 1BR suite, it had the extra dresser. It also had bunk beds. I think this is one of those great mysteries of life.

Thank you for all the replys. It seems like the answer is no one really knows. Perhaps it is best to just request one.

We had connecting deluxe rooms. I can't vouch for the room with 2 queen beds because I can't remember, but our room with a queen and a set of bunks had the extra dresser.

I'm now wondering if all the bunk bed rooms have them. Anyone staying at AKl in a bunk room remember if your room had the extra dresser by the closet?

I agree to request a room with an extra dresser. It does add alot more space and the top was great for all our snacks and drinks.

We were first put in a room with no extra dresser near the elevators that my DH did not like b/c the elevator noise kept him awake at night so we switched rooms. We were so surprised to see the extra dresser in our new room! It was great! We had a room with two queens.

Stayed in a bunk bed room and didn't have an extra dresser....not sure of room number but it was on the fifth floor.

We stayed at AKL in Jan. 2002 and had the extra dresser. It was a pool view room-very nice. The other 2 rooms in our party did not have the extra dresser. I had initially requested connecting rooms but at check in was told that the only connecting rooms are queen/queen-queen /bunk. I suppose they can accomodate families with children that way. I'm at lunch at work right now, so when I get home, I'll check to see if we still have the room number.
