we have been coming to the sunshine state for many years mainly on 2 or 3 week holidays. now we have both retired we want to come for longer periods.probably 1 month to 7weeks at a time maybe 3 or 4 times a year is this going to be a problem on the vwp? any and all replies are very welcome.

As you are no doubt aware the VWP doesn't actually exist anymore - it is the online ESTA that you need to fill in.
On the first page you come to - if you follow the link in the sticky at the top of the UK Trip Planning page - you will see that one of the conditions of travelling on the ESTA is that your trip is for 90 days or less.
Based on that criteria I would suggest that a 7 week trip is perfectly OK :thumbsup2

thanks for that info, yes i realise 7 weeks will be ok its just is 7 weeks 4 times a year possible on esta without having any problems with the immagration people

Hi 1Dayatatime

:wizard::wizard:WELCOME TO DISBOARDS :wizard::wizard:

A few searches on the CBP website indicate that under the VWP (now ESTA) programme the limit per stay is 90 days. They state that an extension may be applied for if required for up to a further 45 days, however by your first post this does not seem to be your concern.

There is no mention that I can find with reference to a limit over a 365 day period however. Have you thought of ringing the US Embassy and asking? It may be a whole lot quicker than trying to find the information on the website, unless your searches are more successful than mine.
I will have another look and post here if I find anything. Or perhaps someone with the info to hand will be able to clarify. :goodvibes

You can spend 90 days there return home for a day and go back if you wanted BUT the more time you spend there the more questions you are likely to be asked on entry, are you working there? whats the purpose of multiple trips? etc
Might be worth asking the US Embassy to clarify, I searched a few years ago when my Brother was planning on buying property in Vegas and spending a lot of time out there, not much info about on the subject but that was 3-4 years back.

We go to Florida three or four times per year, staying for up to two months each time. There has been no problem with immigration. Once or twice we have been asked why we go so often and we merely inform them we have a vacation home there.
