We are going to wdw from the 25th of Aug to sept 2. I'm trying to figure out the extended hours. On the Dis it says the hours at the park of the day is 1 hr early and 3hrs late. Disney's board says one hr early and up to 3hrs late. What can I expect. Are the parks nice at that time of night. Do the crowds thin out? Is there an extra cost for this?

There is no extra charge for the EMH=extra magic hours.
The only requirement is that you are a WDW resort guest on those days that you are trying to enter the parks and have a valid admission ticket.

As far as the crowds go it will be hit and miss. All the Florida schools will be back in session, so there won't be too many locals there during the week. The temps will be hot during the day with an almost daily afternoon shower that will last about 20 minutes and then be gone. The night temps will still be in the high 70's to early 80's. So pleasant.

that's what i was thinking. If I pick parks with extended evening hours I can back to hotel during hottest hours and head to parks for evening. Is it 3 extra hours in the evening?

I'd also run this question by the Theme park board folks. I understand that the evening EMH are rather crowded.
