How are express passes shown to get in that queue at the attractions? I am wondering because I am going to order lanyards ahead of time and wondering if I need to get the retractable cords so they can be pulled out and scanned or placed against a reader or do you just hold it up for a team member?

Yes, they need to be shown and often scanned with a handheld scanner at each ride. A lanyard around your neck works just fine.

You show your photo express pass card to the TM at that ep entrance line

Can you keep your lanyard with your Express Pass on while you ride rides? (Especially like Rip Ride Rocket?)

Sorry if it was a dumb question. I thought maybe they would make us put it in our pockets or something.

We will definitely tuck the lanyard in.

Not a dumb question at all.........it's easy to be unsure some times of what's required at different rides in Universal......some are different from others........:thumbsup2

Thanks! Yes, it's our first trip and I'm learning they have a lot more rules than Disney. I want to be sure I know the rules once we get there. :)

It's also a lot more laid back than Disney.....which is fun!!!

But ask away, there is an awful lot to take in when you go somewhere new for the first time.........there's a lot of posters on here know almost everything.......so whatever you ask I'm sure someone will have an answer for you.......

Read up on the stickies and there are some excellent trip reports you can read to give you an idea of some things.......there are some good ones from first timers too which is always interesting to read from that perspective now and again.......
