Express Pass Question and Royal Pacific Info

We are going to Universal and staying at the Royal Pacific so we will be able to use the perk of shorter lines. Friends will be meeting us who are not staying on site. If they purchase the express pass with their ticket, do we get to go on the same line? Also, does anyone have any info about the hotel? We are staying there for two nights, planning on enjoying the hotel the first day and IOA the second day. Any tips or thoughts are appreciated.

If your friends get express passes they will be in the same line as you but they can only use them once where you will be able to re-ride.
