Express pass gift?

My daughter and her husband will be honeymooning at Disney in a couple of weeks. They are spending 1 day at Universal with a 2 park pass. I would like to surprise them by getting them an Express Pass since their time will be so limited at Universal. They have already purchased their ticket for the day they are going. Can I buy the Express Pass separately for them or is it something that needs to be added to their existing ticket? Thanks! I am not well versed in Universal

Make sure you list them as picking them up. Universal is very strict about the credit card user being there for the purchase pick-up unless specified.
