ExpoTV Users Stop In....

Ladyflr~I can't wait to see your videos! DD and I are making a trip to KC in March, and I keep thinking of all the places I can review while we're there :rotfl: .

Just an idea...someone said they go to Frommer's and see what they say about a city and review it.

:headache: I just realize I went to the Indy Zoo last week and came home with NO video of me there! But I have a lot of video of the girls "playing" with Nereus (sp?) the walrus through the glass, he's the walrus on Animal Planet's "Growing Up Walrus." I guess I'll have to go back this month before my membership expires. DD will be glad to hear that.

Scott~We're hoping to go in January of 2009. It would be the first trip for my DH and both of our little girls. I've been saving for a long time, so hopefully we can make it happen:) !

I certainly hope you go, you will all have a great time.

I have a quick question for all you Expo experts...
I just signed up for Expo at the first of the month and have gotten several videos published. But I never did any of my PayPal info. When will I do that? I know that I won't actually get paid until next month, but I was wondering if giving them my PayPal info was something that should have happened during sng-up, or if they will wait and ask me for it when I get paid?
Thanks.

They'll use the same email you gave them when signed up for expo, so if that's not your paypal email make sure to go in and change it!

I can't find the other thread on expo right now!

Has everyone been having bogus rejections lately? Between husband and I we have had about 3/4 rejected for not valid link even though it is in their database! This has gone on for the past week!

I did a review on American Girl Boutique and Bistro and I was not in any of the video, although I do talk behind the camera. They accepted it as a destination.

I got the same rejection and it was one in the database. I resubmitted. It was on a DVD and there were 2 listed, so I chose the other one. It was then accepted.

They rejected my National Treasure review saying I gave a spoiler, but I didn't think I did, so I redid it and gave little info.

I have had several rejections due to "invalid link" and the items were in their database. Every time I question this I get the same response from expo: "We are currently looking for ways to improve our database by making it easier to search for products, making it easier to find products, and including a wider selection of products. We apologize for every inconvenience you experience while we make these improvements."

So I finally had enough and sent them a "not so pleasant" e-mail this past week and told them how unfair it is that I take the time to look in their database before I review something and once I see it is in there then I do a review. I told them that it is not fair and it is very time consuming and I just don't appreciate it when I take the time to give them quality reviews every month and I have over 1000 views each month. I got no response. . . :confused3

I'll probably be the first person ever to get kicked out of expo!

I hate to complain because it is money I can make on my own time, but they have been very aggravating lately. I also feel they should have paid me $5 for my idog review because when I selected it, the description automatically put in "portable audio" and portable audio gets $5. They only paid me $2 - categorizing it under MP3 accessories.

Mean - how much did you get paid for your Sonicaire?

I was wondering about the sonicare too.

I'm not uploading anymore tonight...I messed up my earilier uploads and got them out of order w/the product review and two were rejected...rightfully so. Uploaded again, corrected, 4 hours later and both were rejected...one for not being a current product (why didn't they say that the first time?) and the second one for being out of sync. Looked fine to me. I'll upload again tomorrow with hopefully a new reviewer!

I'll review the zoo and give it a shot...thanks for the tip!

I honestly don't know. I uploaded a bunch of videos at the same time and never checked to see what they paid me. I've been trying to keep track this month, because I'm uploading a bunch of video game ($5) reviews. But normally, I don't keep track very well of if they are paying me correctly.

I did a DVD review on a potty training DVD. This is the 3rd potty training DVD I've done - if that tells you anything. I have an almost 3 year old who keeps telling me she is still a baby and insists that everyone call her "baby." Anyway - the other 2 were paid at the $5 rate.

THey only paid me $2 for this one and have it under a Baby category. I emailed Expo - lets see what they say.

FYI - I was reading on the forums and people have posted the Expo is sending the 1099 out as Prize money and it is taxed at 40%. So I guess I'll be putting away 40% of this years earnings. That hardly seems fair because I would not call this prize money. I'm working and spending time doing this. It isn't like I entered a drawing.

Well, I finally got a response from Expo. Although it's not really much of a response or an answer to why items that ARE in their database are rejected for "currently unavailable". ~

"I apologize for your frustrations with ExpoTV and the company's current policies. We do value you as a member of our community, and we take comments and suggestion from our community seriously. We are discussing this issue with our tech team; hopefully, we can improve our database to avoid situations like these in the future."

Thats terrible about the prize money tax hit! Are they kidding?:sad2: I wish they would have told us that from the beginning!! I could have been saving the 40%!! :scared1:

This doesn't really seem to be prize money. Shouldn't it just be misc. income?

Did anyone else get a December bonus payment??? I just got an email from Paypal saying I had 55.00 from Expo, I went to check it and it says "this is your well deserved bonus for all of your wonderful videos you made for us in December. You were paid 11.00 for each video that qualified for the bonus".
Just curious if everyone got this. YIPEE!!!! Wish I'd had made more in December now!
