"Explosive" DHS News!

Darn I was so hoping to see a link about an official Star Wars expansion :crazy2:

Looks like they are expecting decent crowd levels between the additional fireworks and extended hours.

I was hoping that they were going to blow up the Hat. :cool2:

I went to the Disney website, and their MK parks hours haven't been updated yet for March 10 from midnight to 1am. I didn't check the rest of the dates.

The Disney site is almost always the last place to update their park hours ironically

Thanks for this! It will be our last night on Friday May 16th, do you know whereabouts the fireworks are going to be, ie best viewing spots? We have never seen fireworks at the Studios, so might go to this. :cool1:

I am so excited about this news! My fiance and I are getting married on May 25 (yes, the anniversary of Star Wars) and are staying at the Swan that night. Our plans were to go to DHS that night for the Hyperspace Hoopla, and now we can stay for fireworks! I saw them last year during the May 4 celebration and they almost made me cry. pixiedust:

So I take it, these fireworks are only during SWW not anytime else during the week. We will be there at the end of May but are not going to SWW, it would of been really cool to see fireworks at DHS, maybe we will be able to see the the high flying fireworks from BC, if we are lucky :goodvibes.

Having been in DHS for 4th of July fireworks I don't see this as the greatest thing. From my experience it seemed like the park doesn't handle the crowds that gather to watch as well as MK or Epcot do.

You don't have to be there all day if you don't want to. You can just go in the evening for the fireworks

The way the late Feb. / very early March period has been talked about, at least historically, was that it was still relatively quiet — really the last relatively quiet period before the spring break craziness starts. To me that was a good thing! :) I’m now just worried that something is showing up in Disney’s systems to tell them that that period is going to involve large crowds (hence the hours extensions — 1 am in late February, really?). My understanding was that Mardi Gras was such a local event — really, isolated to Louisiana — that it wouldn’t affect crowds THAT much. But maybe I was wrong. :worried:

We will be at MK on March 7.
I am more worried than excited that they extend it to 1am. To me, it means they sold many tickets for those days. I'd rather have 1 less hour of "crowd" to share the park with.

Also, it means Mickey would meet from 9 to 12:30am?! Awwww, that is such a long day for Mickey.. I feel bad for him. ;)
