expiry dates on codes

When booking a room at an AP discount rate, if the expiry date of the code is part way through the booking, do you get it for the rest of your booking or does it go to regular rate after the code expires?

for all seasons and special promotions you generally get whatever is in effect when you CHECK IN. Not sure if that holds true for special codes like APs - I've never bridged a season on an AP rate.
