EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Isn't it funny how husbands decide what is and isn't acceptable? Mine won't ever go back to the GF. We stayed in Sugar Loaf, and the lounge there is very noisy due to it being in the center of the atrium. He can deal with it being noisy in the lobby, at the pool, or even while he's sleeping. It's not acceptable during breakfast if breakfast is within 20 minutes of awakening.

It isn't just husbands who've cornered that market. Years ago my wife proclaimed we're never spending another night at POFQ until they remove the hideous giant Mardi Gras masks hanging in the food court.

Lucky for me my DH thinks it is unacceptable to drive on vacation - that means we stay on property! Also, he isn't a fan of going 'out' for breakfast and likes eating in a lounge - hooray we stay CL!
Thanks for the scoop about Sugar Loaf being loud - DH also prefers quiet at breakfast - his favorite lounge is BWI CL for that very reason.

Lol, true. A couple years ago, we were looking at the costs of all of these WDW CL trips and so I spent hours researching a moderate I thought we'd like and came up with POFQ -- I went so far as to choose our room that I thought would be the best for us (preferred pool view maybe?) and before I hit "submit" I asked DH to come look at the computer and I showed him POFQ and the price difference (HUGE difference between CL and POFQ). Well...DH was silent and then finally said he doesn't think POFQ would be a good fit for us because we're so used to CL. YAY for us!! CL it is.

12 day mark today! Maybe even 11 day mark as DH is considering adding yet another day. I'm also reading The Boathouse opens today for walk ups!

Just curious if anyone has experience at AKL main pool. Description says largest pool on Disney property but I thought SAB was? With 90+ degree temps we may spend lots of time there!

Happy Monday to all.

Liz

Yay for adding a day :yay:.

Add us to the list of those who love the AKL pool. I'm not sure how it compares to others as far as size, but we enjoyed it :goodvibes.

MickeyNut Yes it might be time for that stay at WL CL....When you and I can finally nail down our trip dates maybe we can plan a split stay....:goodvibes

That sounds good to me :thumbsup2.

Sorry I've been MIA! I had 12 house guests last week and I'm just now getting my house back to normal. :laundy::crazy:

I've got major catching up to do! I will go back now and see everything I missed!!! :goodvibes

If you were going to do a quick trip over the last week of December, which CL would you pick? I'm thinking just 3 days. We're going to go to Sarasota to visit family the week after Christmas and I am playing around with the idea of Jan 1-4 at WDW. I know it will be crazy and I know it will be crazy expensive. But what else can I do? Not go to WDW when I'm just going to be over on the Gulf? :D
YC/BC seems like a tease because it could be too cold for swimming. Maybe CR? or GF?

New Year's at WDW I would choose a resort that is close to whichever park or parks you plan to spend the most time at. Due to the high crowds transportation is time consuming. Buses are very full, wait times are longer, traffic is bad, so the closer you are to where you want to be is ideal. If you plan to spend a lot of time at MK, then go with a monorail resort or the WL. If you want to spend most of your time at Epcot then go with YC/BC/BWI. :)

I think I got everyone added to our page 1 guest list! :thumbsup2 If I missed you let me know! :goodvibes

If you had the chance to stay CL at Polynesian or do dining plan what would you do? My children are DD4,DS 7 and DD 12. The two little ones are not big eaters and I sometimes have a hard time forcing my 12 year old to eat a $17.00 cheeseburger. We stayed at RPC last June and were full by the time we had a couple of apps and some wine and cheese. (no wine for kids of course) What are your thoughts? Worth the extra money and do you think it will still cost a fortune on top of CL to feed everyone with no dining plan?

I would do Poly CL. I am not a fan of the dining plan unless you have big eaters who will get their money's worth. My kids are snackers and CL is always a much better bargain for them. :)

Good advice! Thanks! :)

My opinion of letting the IPO's make ADR's. 180+10 was available starting 4/10 since I was traveling at the time I let the IPO make my ADR's. Late in the evening I was finally able to check my reservations on line, well the IPO got me three out of my ten selections. When I contacted them about some of the dates I choose and gave them alternatives they said none were available and that I have been put on a wait list that searches daily for availability. Nothing has happened with that, but I searched on my own and have found two of my choices available and one of those being BOG for a 7:00 pm dinner reservation on a Sunday, so much for their waiting list checking daily! They did however get me wished dessert party.

Good to know. I just got the PIP from IPO today. I was going to fill it out and turn it in but still plan on booking my own ADRs. I figured since there are a few hard to get ones on my list (Ohana, Cali Grill, Via Napoli) that it would be best to have more than me trying for them.

My kids love to snack also. The past few visits we have stayed club level and I think it would be hard not to now!! We are staying for nine nights and it could get pricey though. I need to go back to work so I can support my Disney habit!!

Has anyone else heard of the flooding of Poly CL garden view rooms today due to an irrigation system leak?

I feel so sorry for those poor people in those rooms; I hope the Poly takes good care of them.

Yes, I read about it on Tikiman's page. How crazy!!!!

I don't wish flooding on anyone. We had fire sprinklers go off in our room once. We were taken care of though :)

We're dealing us an unusual amount of rain here ourselves. I haven't seen the sun in 6 days. And here along the Gulf Coast that is SO unusual. I hope it doesn't drift over Orlando for our visit! 10 Days to go!!!

I had an interesting conversation this morning with an online friend of mine about club level at WDW. She has never given it a try because she said it's for "rich people who want their a$$@$ kissed". Pardon my french but I wanted to quote her word for word. I then started giving all my reasoning behind choosing club level and why I don't think it has anything at all to do with wealth. Anyone who goes to WDW is coughing up big bucks, and I know for a fact many families spend more on their non-CL vacation than I do when I stay club level. She acknowledged my opinion but said she doesn't feel comfortable vacationing with "club level type people". :confused3 :sad2: :sad1:  I actually feel sad to think there are people who feel this way.

Wow. First off she doesn't know what she is missing . Second, she should do a little research about something before she knocks it. Like you said, we sometimes stay club level for cheaper than what others pay including their dining, photopass plus memory maker etc etc.... Sorry your friend feels that way. I certainly am not rich and could care less about anyone kissing anything. I'm at Disney with my family that is all I need.

I think this perception is common. There are those who feel that value resorts are for poor folks, deluxe for upper middle, club for snobs. It's such a skewed viewpoint. I have a friend who is a doctor who can afford to stay anywhere, but she and her family almost always stay value or moderate. I've met families of modest means at the deluxe resorts and on club level. It's all about what's important to the individual, it's not one size fits all. Never judge a person by their hotel room!
