EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

thanks for the WL CL replies :)

From the links I followed and some comments I read there have been cutbacks. What is missing now?

Debating back and forth about whether to do a split stay for our next trip..and the reviews on this thread have been so helpful! :goodvibes

Trish The 5 pm olives and cheese..of course its about the food...lol... :drinking:

Beautiful pictures Liz :cloud9:

WL is beautiful! I'll dig up the sunrise over Seven Seas with CR in the background now. Nothing like strolling down WDW memory lane!

DH and I are so looking forward to the 3 decompress days at AKL CL before we start our week WDW craziness. We almost grabbed GF or WL but decided to get further away from the park chaos and closer to that Rum Dole Whip! For us AK park just seems more relaxing for some reason.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Liz

Long-time CL-stayer here... But now I have a question to ask all of you. If you could stay at WDW during Thanksgiving, which resort (CL) would you recommend? Will all the decorating be done by then? (Background info: We've stayed CL at GF (both SL and RPC), YC, BC, Poly, and AKL but usually do split stays and long trips. If we do go, it will be for just a few days so no split stay. I have trouble choosing just one!). I will admit that we do like the ambiance of the lounges that are part of the lobby (i.e.. RPC, AKL) more than the ones that are just a large room (i.e. YC/BC)

For just a few days during Tgiving week, I'd go with either RPC or WL. (We have not stayed RPC yet, but it's on my list for someday.) I think the holiday decorations will be up by that week and both of those resorts are my favorites during holiday season. I love the cozy feel at WL and the elegant festive feel of GF during Cmas time. That's just my personal taste, though. We love Poly CL but to us that's more of a summer-time feel.

@TJA - Those are the very two I am leaning towards (although I am trying to keep an open mind here), but we do love AKL, too, and like to spend time at Epcot. I'm so torn... We've never planned a short trip to WDW, and if we are lucky enough to go this time I want to make sure it's as magical as possible.

Hey there mmm ! So I guess that you have decided on a WDW visit instead of one to Miami Beach.... For a quick visit ..particularly in a cooler month I would say RPC...for just those reasons..convenience during the short stay..central location during probably cooler weather...and lets not forget the wonderful CL food offerings...and the ambiance of lounge ..have I mentioned location, locations, location...lol..Enjoy! I know it will be a wonderful family time during your DD's college break....

I agree. Both resorts are favorites of mine during the holidays and both CLs are amazing :goodvibes.

I think it's time to take the plunge and give WL CL a try ::yes::.

My vote is for GF RPC if it's in budget for you. Everyone wants to go to GF main lobby to enjoy its holiday splendor, but you won't have to fight for a seat to enjoy it.... You can just grab one in the lounge:) and if weather isn't cooperating, you can stay in and enjoy the band/pianist.

I used the text service in February and loved it.. I even let them know when I was on property and they were waiting for me when I pulled up
When do they give you the number to text? We have not received an email or anything yet for our stay, it's not until September though.

Question for everyone!! When I stayed at WL CL last month (one night), it was around 8pm and we had not had turn-down service so I asked at the desk and was told that you don't get it if you only stay one night. Is that a new rule?
I've stayed at GF, Poly, and YC all within the last year for one night and was automatically given turn down. I've stayed at regular rooms at Deluxe and have requested to have it and they've come for one night stays. It's not a huge deal but the CM wasn't too nice about me requesting it (or the fact that I told her you have to touch the MB to the room door before it will work in the elevator…MB pro here!) but I said it says within the booking description that you are entitled to it therefore, it's nice to have whether you stay one night or 14, lol…just curious if anyone else had the same experience.

Looking for some insight.. We stayed at GF club level last year and found that with the large portion of evening h'ourderves (sp)?? We were sometimes too full to eat a full service dinner. Most nights we would share something at a quick serve and as a result ended up saving some money as a sweet bonus!!:dogdance:
We are now contemplating switching (if available) to Club level at Poly but were wondering if we would be in the same position as we were with GF ?
As a side note, does anyone know if all the standard rooms in Hawaii will be facing the quiet pool and all its construction?

We have found the same to be true for us:) At least one night of our stay in RPC, we will get a couple of meals at Gasparilla and split them. Even when we go out to dinner, it saves us money because we often eat at signatures and then don't need the appetizers (and we often make it back to CL for desserts too)! We've only stayed at Poly CL once, and our room was TPV, but my guess would be that they only have TPV or GV in the Hawaii building, and that GV would face the quiet pool. I do wonder if they will create a new category for some of the first floor rooms that have their TPV blocked by the new villas. It may not completely block the view, so they may try to pass this off as TPV still, although that would make me angry if I paid for TPV and got first floor. Again, I'm not a Poly expert so Maybe I'm wrong about the room categories there. As for the food in Poly club, we did not see a major difference in the evening offerings comparing Poly to GF. The daytime snacks were much less at Poly, but that may not bother you. I personally would avoid Poly while the construction is going on because we had a problem with noise when we were there since the construction was on the TPV side when we were there. You might be ok if you stayed on the TPV side.

The noise wouldn't bother us too much as we aren't there during the day but I don't want to look at it either. The only problem with TPV club level is the extra premium for that view... ouch!!

Honestly, I agree with you totally! You get the AWESOME view from the lounge which is where we spend much more time than in the room. The noise was a problem for us because my girls are 16 and 11 so they sleep in really late. We actually booked a GV because that was all that was left (my husband messed up on our dates at GF so we ended up doing a split stay). We got "upgraded" to TPV, but it ended up to be a horrible upgrade. The first night, trucks were bringing in loads of dirt all night long! We complained and the problem was corrected. They weren't supposed to be working all night, and we did not hear them again at night. So if the daytime noise isn't a problem for you, you could just keep the curtains shut in the room and save some money:)

We're staying at BC CL in May and am not concerned about the drinks as we will probably just have a glass of wine. However, this is the first I've heard of texting and FP....sounds great.

Thank goodness they corrected that. Noise at night is unacceptable when you are paying tons of money to stay. Thanks for your thoughts on that.

We did one night before our cruise in SL at the GF, then one night at the BC CL after the cruise. We did get turndown at GF, but not at the BC. I was more annoyed at the BC, because they dropped off an unmade rollaway and left it standing in the corner of the room for us to deal with. We'd gone swimming in the afternoon, and used quite a few towels for showering afterwards. We'd always gotten everything replenished. This time we did not. We had no shampoo, etc., for the morning. I didn't bother to call and ask as it was short. We're doing a split stay this time. 7 nights at the CR, then heading over to the BC very early in the morning to spend the day at Star Wars weekend at HS. We're not flying out until late in the day, so we're hoping for turndown so that we can have multiple showers for the 5 of us before flying home. I am going to ask for late check-out (1 pm), hoping they'll allow it.

Any experiences with direct-to-room check-in on club level? Thinking about it for next trip. Thanks!

When we arrive, there is always someone waiting for us to escort us to our room. If our room isn't ready because we've arrived too early, bell services will take our bags and we will be escorted to the club lounge where we can get something to drink or a snack. If our room isn't ready, we will receive a text when it is so that we can go ahead and go to a park in the meantime (bell services will bring our bags when we call them from our room once we are back). We love club level for all its conveniences.

12 day mark today! Maybe even 11 day mark as DH is considering adding yet another day. I'm also reading The Boathouse opens today for walk ups!

Just curious if anyone has experience at AKL main pool. Description says largest pool on Disney property but I thought SAB was? With 90+ degree temps we may spend lots of time there!

Happy Monday to all.

Liz
