EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

I think it's called the Tamu Tamu Refreshments ( https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/animal-kingdom/tamu-tamu-refreshments/ ) in Animal Kingdom where they have the regular and Coconut or Dark Rum Dole Whips. EPCOT has them during Flower and Garden and Food and Wine as well.

I know DH wants the Dark Rum but I'm trying the Coconut! I'll get a taste of the Dark Rum because what's his is mine too :)

Added to my list of must-do drinks when we are there next!!

We had sushi in May and November. I was there on Mondays so maybe that's the night but I can't remember.

Thanks...that's what Pixarmom thought too. And I had it narrowed down to either Monday or Tuesday :). We were there in April and July last year and apparently I need to keep better notes! We are going in July again this year, so I think I'll jot things down each night, or try to take pictures. Only thing is I think the schedule gets a little messed up during our week because they always have certain food on July 4 (hot dogs, etc.).

Where are the rum Dole Whips?! I just recently learned of the vodka slushies at the French Pavilion so that's a must-do in November! I think I need to add rum Dole Whip to that list!
I get mine at epcot in the spring (garden)and fall((F&W). It is usually at a Dole booth.

Question....

DH & I will be at the BC CL in October for our 30th wedding anniversary. We are coming up on our ADR date and he really wants us to have our anniversary dinner at V&A. I understand in order to get a reservation here you have to contact the restaurant directly so is this something I should do myself or could I have the BC IPO book it for us? Anyone know? I'm excited to try V&A as I've heard nothing but great things about it but I'm also a little nervous as I'm not as an adventurous eater as he is :upsidedow.

Oh good question - I'd like too know this too! I was going to have the IPO make mine but it'll be good to know in advance if they can't!

We stayed in GF last October for our 30th and reserved the Queen Victoria Room. I contacted GF IPO prior to our 180 days and let them know that was the ONE THING I wanted above all else. We got it on the night we requested. We decided against the Chef's Table and the Queen's Room was beyond our expectations. Totally recommend it!

Hope this helps!

PS and Yes we'll be having Rum Dole Whips in EPCOT too! :drinking1

Thanks!! I was looking at the Chefs Table as well but I couldn't tell about what was going on with the Queen's Room. Is that separate from the main sitting area or is that the main sitting area? It sounds like that would be your recommendation for a first-timer at V&As?? I could probably Google it but love hearing personal experiences more - LOL!

We were at BC CL a week and a half ago and I have to say I felt awful for the CM's on CL. Several times we needed to hurry our kids along because people were just berating the CM's. It was awful. One lady screaming because she did not get a daybed. Seriously, screaming! another gentleman who was furious because his suite was not on the club level. Another guest furious because they didn't have any ADRs and couldn't get a 'decent meal anywhere'. The kids don't want to go back to the BC because of how many unhappy people there were there. I really felt awful for the CM's. I sent a note to guest services to say how much I admired these folks because there is no way I could have been as professional as they were.

Sigh.....I almost, almost, feel sorry for these rude guests. It must be terrible to be that angry in the Happiest Place On Earth.

If anyone is at WL Old Faithful Club, would you be kind enough to ask approximately how many castmembers work in OFC concierge staff per week? We made a gift basket last year for them and have an idea for something different this year. Thanks!

Interesting...

So, I just phoned the BC IPO and the person I spoke with gave me the phone number to V&A and told me I should call myself :scratchin.

All I can say is "Wow"....what is wrong with people?

The Queen Victoria Room is a separate area that has only 4 tables with wonderful harp music floating softly inside. The room has dedicated servers so you don't share with the big room. Each table is seated at a different time maybe 30ish minutes apart. It is very quiet and romantic. It is also the same menu courses (10) as the Chef's Table so food is similar or the same. I've not done the Chef's Table at V&A but we did do one last July at Flying Fish. There was not enough "Chef interaction" to justify the noise IMO since you are in the kitchen!

Yell if you have more questions and hope this helps.

That is awful! One of the things we love so much about Disney is that it is always full of happy people. We call it the "Disney Bubble" because you are blissfully unaware of all the bad stuff going on in the world outside of Disney. A Disney vacation does take some planning, and if you don't want to do it yourself, use a travel agent! I don't understand why they would yell at the CMs...it's not their fault. I'm glad we have never experienced behavior like that.

I'm definitely going to be looking for the rum Dole whips too! Just out of curiosity, are you a B52s fan or something? I just heard their "Love Shack" song on the XM 80s station the other day and thought of you -lol:)

That is just odd, especially since you can make the reservation online yourself or through MDE. I can't believe it is something only the GF IPO do. Of course things may have changed since October! Whichever you decide you will enjoy it. It was the most incredible dining experience! The only warning I have is beware the add ons or at least budget for them. You'll get sucked into them and they are pricey considering the cost of the meal.

Hands down at all my trips I see the worst people at club level.:sad2:

I find they are usually unprepared and take it out on the cm's. They don't like the room, want special food brought in from elsewhere, want fp's and dining res to be available etc.

I try to check on the cm later and tell them they did a good job with the situation. You can see they appreciate it and smile/relax a bit.

Oh on a different note. I was having so much fun at Cr atrium club in August! I was waiting in the lounge for dd at 5pm and had a glass of wine. I noticed a woman in her 30's with maybe her dad chatting and drinking wine as well. When dd still didn't show up I decided glass 2? why not! I noticed the woman's glass was empty and offered to refill for her while I was up. She looked a little confused but said ok. When I gave it to her I said " I am traveling alone with my teenage daughter and having a relaxing time without my son and husband. You looked comfy there I didn't mind getting it for you! Hope you and your family have a great night".

3 days later on check out day dd and I get on the elevator to leave. A woman and her kids got on as well. The woman says " kids, that's the nice lady that got me my wine the other night I told you about!"

Ya, I do stuff like that all the time. I love being at Disney and thankful I get to go as often as I can. Still, it was nice knowing it was appreciated.

I found it odd too and from what I've heard from a few other folks since, they can make the reservation for you so not sure why this particular CM wasn't offering. In any case, I normally make my own reservations even when we stay CL, so I've decided I'm just going to do it myself.

As for the add-ons, I've heard they can get pricey so the only thing I plan to do is the wine-pairing and even that is going to be just for DH as I'm not into wine as much as he is. Getting excited as I've heard nothing but great things about V&A and am thinking it will be a nice splurge for our anniversary!!

Trish...I can't agree with you more about finding the worst people staying in CL. In all of our CL stays, we too have seen and heard some of the craziest behavior giving the term "entitlement" a whole new definition...sad really!

And thanks for sharing your story...I think it's great what you did for that other guest :)!

We saw a few situations too -- one was at check in. I felt sorry for CM Cameron who was being so polite while the guests were so upset....I'm not even sure why - something to do with their room. They weren't shouting but we could feel the vibes. I sent my kids and DH in the lounge so they didn't witness it.

Another time was in the morning. A lady asked to speak with a manager and this time the guest was indeed talking very loudly about her displeasure regarding the food always running out. Right in the middle of the lounge too! Unfortunately my kids did witness that one.

I think we were there at the same time, right? We were there March 28-April 4. So far I have done a survey and did make sure to mention how wonderful the CM's were, as always at BC. We just had that one issue with one CM bartender but we did not complain to anyone because it was only one CM and we believe it was just a mistake on her part. I did mention the incident in my survey and do plan to follow up in my feedback letter so that hopefully they will review proper protocol so this doesn't happen to another family :).

Has anyone been to the Poly lately to know which night they usually have sushi in the lounge? I'm in the process of making some dinner ADR's and want to coordinate with the lounge sushi night.

We were there in early January:

Each night in kids' area they had uncrustables, mini turkey corn dogs, and red pepper hummus

I asked for menus, but they told me that they were 'changing things up' and trying out new recipes. They seemed to be looking for feedback and asked guests how they liked items.

We saw for nighttime offerings:

Sunday- Spring rolls, conch fritters

Monday- Mushroom risotto balls, 5 spice chicken wings

Tuesday- Sushi (California rolls and veg rolls)

Wednesday- Bacon wrapped beef with blue cheese aioli, Pierogies with Korean bbq sauce

Thursday- Chicken quesadillas with mango salsa, spring rolls

Friday- Crab rangoon, 5 spice chicken wings

Saturday- we left :sad1:

We've been pretty fortunate during most of our CL stays, but we do find some interesting guests in the CL lounges sometimes. GF RPC was the most interesting, as many guests seemed confused by the ADR situation. On more than one occasion, I overheard irritation that the CL CMs could not book next-day character meals.

Interesting that someone complained about the food running out at BC. We've stayed CL at BC a few times and our experience there last weekend was better than ever before. The variety and quality of the food was much higher and the CMs replenished the food frequently. As I mentioned earlier, that's not an easy task at BC because they have to keep bringing items in and out through the closed door. I wonder if we encountered the same CM bartender as TJA one night, but our second night everything went smoothly. In fact, I commented to that CM how much we enjoyed the quality and variety of breakfast and appetizer offerings. He said they are working to make more items available and not rotate the same things in as frequently.

Another thing - we actually love magic bands. We have many, use them interchangeably, and have never (knock on wood) had a problem. I always try to remember to tell CMs how much we love the bands, so they know they work well for someone!
