EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Just a portion of quick review of trip that applies to Yacht Club Club Level.-
Notes on hotels - Caribbean Beach, only there for about 7 hours most spent sleeping. Big for our taste, but very tropical and served our purpose. We had luggage moved to Yacht Club went great no problems at all. Yacht Club, we have stayed at Beach Club twice before so knew the area and pool both reasons we chose. Love the location. Our room 5190 was a standard view club level room. The room was clean and in very good shape, no signs of distress. Our view was of the front door, front circle. Plenty of trees so didn’t not feel a bad view for standard. The best thing was we could see MK’s fireworks every night from the room. Perfect. This was our first Club Level experience and it was worth it for our family of 5. We had breakfast every morning, afternoon snacks 1 or 2 days, drinks and appetizers every night and dessert I think 3 nights. The kids loved having access to the mini fridge with sodas 24 hours. The lounge crowds varied but folks were polite and respectful. Breakfast was when there was a crowd other times of the day folks seemed to grab and go. The staff was polite and helpful but nothing over the top. They did have the texting service while we were there and were willing to try for fast passes for us, didn’t work because most of our 3rd passes were too late for us to get the big ones we would have wanted. We were able to get beer one day before it was out to take to the pool but they were not able to leave dessert in our room upon request (they said quality issue). As I said worth for our family, but if it was just two of us not sure I would splurge.

Club level food – Breakfast changing muffin/pastry always bagels, croissants, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal (toppings available), cheese grits, yogurt, cold cereal and fresh fruit. Afternoon snacks – Cookies, chips, dips, granola, yogurt pretzels and Swedish fish. Evening – crackers, cheese, veggies, spreads, two hot appetizer (changed each night but similar), a favorite was the PB&J “shots” and rolls, Wine and Beer, soft drinks and lemonade. Dessert varied 3 or 4 pastries, cookies and cordials. The mini fridge was always available with sodas and coffee and water always available.

The magic bands were great by the way.

Willing to answer any questions. If you are planning enjoy and have a good trip.

I went at Christmas. We had no issues at all with the lounge and its offerings. There was always enough room for us.

Honestly, it was a lovely trip, and they made it that way. We had no issues having DD's allergies accommodated (it had taken a few days last trip, and they serve nuts in the lounge - so we constantly had to seek other food out for her). That was great and made us very happy.

We had to request a deep cleaning on our room in advance due to an illness / disability for a member in our family before check in. When we arrived, the room had obviously not been cleaned as thoroughly as needed (we noted it had obviously not been vacuumed, along with other things). We called CL concierge immediately and they told us it would be a few hours to clean a room, but they would have one for us. I was anxious about it, and told them so.

The gentleman I talked to was very kind, encouraged us to go to the parks, and told us he would make sure that we were very happy with the room when we came back. When we got back, we had been upgraded to a suite for the entirety of our stay. It was amazing. We had a large Christmas tree in the room like we have at home. My kids were so happy about that tree it was ridiculous!

Getting the upgrade was seriously good luck as well. About two days into the vacation, one of the kids in our family (usually the healthy one!) became sick on the trip, causing us to stay in the room more than usual. Having the extra room helped during that time.

I can't believe how much they helped us. Either they pitied us or they decided to seriously spread some major Christmas pixie dust on our vacation. I will be forever grateful for that. They made our vacation a great one despite the hiccups we had.

I haven't even listed all the good stuff they did for us, but I will throw in one last one. On Christmas morning, they were worried we wouldn't make it to Chef Mickey's on time due to the insane traffic trying to go into MK. The sick kiddo was finally doing better, and all he was asking about was Chef Mickey's. They called immediately and left Chef Mickey's a message, but also put us on a taxi instead of sending us on the regular bus. How sweet is that? Those are not things to expect... but they are all pixie dust.

Amazing job, AKL CL and Disney!
How wonderful!

Perditax- please don't get sad for your stay! AKL and their CL is amazing! The lounge being crowded all depends on the timing and what I think were large groups staying together. If it wasn't "main" times, there were plenty of seats. I enjoyed popping in at random times during the day to check out the movies they would play. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised when you get there and see how beautiful the area is, how great the food & offerings are, and how awesome the CL staff is (look for Misty and Wayne!).

Thank you. I mentioned this in some cruise forums as well (my first DCL cruise is coming up in Sept, barring disaster)--I'm in that planning stage where when you don't really know what to expect (I've been to AKL but never CL anywhere), so anything negative sounds much worse than it should. :)

I love the throws or whatever you call them at the end of the bed and I want to make my bedroom look like the renovated BC rooms - how big do you think the things are? Width and Length? Do you know what I mean?

We have a one night CL stay booked at WL for April 3-4. We are moving from WBC after a 4 night stay there. Even though we will have the three kids with us, this is our 15th anniversary on the 3rd. I am really looking forward to this trip! I booked over a week ago and still have not heard from IPO. I have all my fastpasses and dinning reservations. One question- we are checking in around 7 am and heading straight to MK. Should I make a request for a bunk bed room or not make any requests and hope for some pixie dust upgrade since it is just for one night? Thanks for any suggestions!

I have found that when I have a one night stay I have the greatest chance for an upgrade. I would recommend asking for whatever type of room you might want and see what happens. :) You never know! ;)

I call them a runner but I'm not sure of the official name. ;) I would guess they are about 2 feet by 6 feet. Just big enough to protect the bedding from your shoes if you lay down with them on. Usually the first thing I do with them is rip them off the beds and throw them in the closet. LOL ::yes:::wave2:

I think they are called Bed Scarfs.. They are about 24" wide and about 2 yards long.. Depending on the size of the bed

For the CL vets, will you use the new streamlined check-in process? Assuming it is offered to club level? I've read the past reviews of people who used online check-in (or not) for club level, but wasn't sure on the streamlined process. This will be our first club level stays at BC and CR. I'm all about efficiency and bypassing the people factor, but wasn't sure if since we're newbies we should go through the club level check-in.

On a side note, I'm just thankful we have finally finalized our plans. We've changed from offsite to onsite and our resort about 8 times for just this trip!!

I've been thinking about this. Normally I like to speak with a castmember first to see if my room requests were honored and if not is there any chance of moving me. If I bypass this and go straight to my room, and it's really not what I wanted I have to go back to the desk and see about a possible change. I guess it could be pretty convenient as long as you like the room they put you in. ;) With some CL's it's probably a non-issue because most rooms in each category are fairly similar, but if I'm checking in at the BC CL for example, I always ask for a full balcony and I like to try for one if I don't luck out with my first room assignment.

anybody stay at Poly CL recently (in one of the newly designated GV rooms on the lagoon side)? Would love to see pics of the new view...

I will likely still check in with a castmember. Right now, we're booked at the Poly for the first few days of the trip. I plan to request one of the GV rooms on the lagoon side, or one of the rooms closest to the pool so we can avoid having too much of a construction view with the quiet pool being torn up. Then we move to the BC. Hoping for a full balcony as well. If they can't accommodate it, I'll ask if they can move us to one with the full balcony.

No, I won't. I don't do "online check in" either. I let the IPO know my room requests by email. I usually add the same request with a call to CRO or during booking.
I don't find check in particularly long or arduous. I much prefer talking to a human. They usually meet us as we arrive and take us up. It's a good time for me to ask any questions, get additional information. It works well for me, so I'll continue to do this.
One tip, I try to have pretty straightforward room requests.

I've actually had really good luck with online check in. I tried it last year, was very skeptical, and loved the rooms we were given. One of which was an upgrade to a deluxe room at the BWI CL. :)

What a nice upgrade! And the view can't be beat!
Love the Deluxe rooms at BWI/CL when they're on the 4th, not so much when given one on the 3rd. This is just one of those personal preference things. Because they can be on either floor, we don't book them anymore.
(And I'm a big fan of AKL/CL, where we know we won't be on the same floor...so sometimes it's a trade off.)

To be clear I'm not skeptical. We just very much prefer to have a room on the same floor as the lounge. I add that in my requests. For the Boardwalk, that it would be something along the lines of: 4th floor, near lounge, full tub.

I think the main thing is it probably helps to be reasonably consistent with any requests.

Sorry if this has already been asked/answered in this thread but I searched and couldn't find the answer.

If we booked through a TA with the magical package, should I still contact an IPO? will they contact me? We are a ways out - going late October, but having never used a TA nor stayed club level before, not sure how things work. The last time we visited was four years ago and I did everything myself.

IPO should still contact you (or you can contact them!) Let them know when you're arriving, etc. and if you have any special requests. :-)

As a TA I can give you the correct answer! :D Yes you can definitely contact IPO and they may or may not contact you first but you don't need to wait to hear from them. Your TA may or may not offer assistance with making ADRs and things, that varies by agent, so it will be up to you to decide if you want to give your restaurant list to your TA or to IPO. Just don't give it to both of them of course, one or the other to avoid confusion.

Thought I would share this email I got from the GF IPO:
