EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

I'm booking a Jan stay at Poly CL! We stayed there last year and got totally spoiled  This year, it was an easy decision to do CL again with all of the construction...now we know which longhouse we are in and don't need to stress about the uncertainty. Plus, I need that amazing punch during the fireworks :cool2:

Thank you!!!! You too!! :-) I can't wait to stay there!!!! It's so beautiful.

Thanks :goodvibes.

On the topic of split stays...
I've asked this before, so forgive me, but I guess I didn't like the answer. :rolleyes1
We're staying CL at GF for two nights with no park tickets. We transfer to BWI CL and that package has park tickets. Can't RPC just activate those bands for us so we can go to epcot before checking in to the BW?

- has anyone else noticed issues with the dis on their iPad since updating to iOS 8? It runs soooo slow!! :sad1:

I don't know what answer you got before, but you can go to guest services at any park up to 3 days prior to the start of your package and request early ticket pick up (which can be done without having to check in at BWI). We did this a few years ago without any problem. This, of course, was prior to magic bands, but I have read reports that it is still doable with the MBs. I don't know if/how RPC can activate tickets if they are included in a package at another resort, but calling them as the pp suggested might be a good idea. Have a great trip :wizard:.

Congrats on another Poly CL stay :yay:. We are in the pre-planning stages for a trip next summer and have decided to go back to the Poly, possibly trying CL. We love the Poly and have read nothing but great things about CL, so I'm anxious to give it a try :goodvibes.

Hey guys :) I'm here at WDW! I'm just hanging in my room waiting for my luggage. I'm thinking I'll go to MK tonight for a Dole Whip and Wishes! :goodvibes

AOA is fine so far. Very similar to Pop. I got both of my requests honored (top floor, near elevator). Plenty of space just for me alone. The wifi is terrible, but that's no big surprise.
Tomorrow morning I head to YC! :woohoo:

Are you staying CL at YC? We will be there in 3 weeks and would be very interested to hear feedback considering there's been some not so great reviews lately.

RPC can't, but from what I've read, the Guest Services at the park can.(if you want to activate them the day before check-in). A few years ago though, this sometimes resulted in messed up dining credits, which meant getting it fixed. no big deal on CL, but if you do this, double check all your credits with a print out (I do that mid-visit anyhow!)

I've also read the very newest version of express check-in is supposed to allow you to go to the park before your hotel, on the day you check in.

In the theme parks thread is a sticky all about tickets. Look there.

The thread I referenced, in my last post, and the author:Cheshire Figment, used to be fantastic. Cheshire Figment hasn't posted in quite some time though -and this thread has not been updated in quite some time: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

Still post 15, section I talks about picking up entitlements early.

More recently (I don't recall what thread) several folks have talked about this, and said the very newest version of on-line check-in is supposed to allow guests to use park tickets before hotel arrival- assuming you have your Magicbands before you arrive. If you have MDE, and do the selection process, they should be mailed well before you arrive. Actually, you will get a set for each hotel (unless that changes). I can't confirm this works; we've always gone to our hotel first. Personally, I never want to have to double back.

In theory, you SHOULD be able to use one set of Magicbands for the entire trip...but don't expect that to work until you go to the hotel.

I'll add a warning though, whenever I've done something out of the ordinary at WDw with WDw packages- especially with a system that's as constantly changing as Magicbands- it always ends up costing me. The line at guest services can be LONG and SLOW. We've wasted many an hour in those lines. The worst GS, is at Epcot, especially the IG back entrance GS. The very best GS is at MK. Those folks ALWAYS know their stuff!

We will be staying Club level at WL for the first time arriving on 10/22. I have A few lunch and dinner ADRs but thinking we may not want a TS dinner if we take advantage of the club offerings at dinner time. Is there a menu available ahead of time so I would have enough time to cancel an ADR if the appetizers offered appealed to us? We are picky eaters and I know we would not eat some of the items I have seen posted.

My question is one of those things that only counts as a problem in WDW. I might want to park hop for our upcoming short trip, but I also want to take advantage of the predinner lounge apps and wine. Do they ever put those out before 5? With shortened autumn hours in the parks, it doesn't make much sense to hop if I can't get to the second park by 4:30 or so.

We've stayed at YC, BW, AKL and WL CL. None of them put the evening offerings out early. It's 5 sharp, or occasionally a few minutes after.

Thanks. I was being too ambitious with the hopping idea anyway. Better to relax and enjoy some yummy snacks.

Sadly, no. Staff is pretty prompt. the only sort of kind of exceptions are:

GF has an afternoon 'tea.' (both lounges) GF also has ham and turkey out during breakfast.
CSR business doesn't offer the same as full CL, more like chips and dips and trail mix, but they were slightly more flexible with what they did offer. (EXCEPT nothing before 7am. Period. all other CL's have coffee out at 6:30a.m.)

WL in particular LOCKS the lounge between offerings. Some others maybe have apples out 24hours, access to the coffee machine/drink cooler, or snacks out past 10pm. Each resort is slightly different.

All that said, when park hours are short- you may well find it easy to return to the lounge by 6:30pm, and hit the tail end of the offerings. In which case, you'd only have a short wait until dessert at 8pm.

I am doing a split stay coming up between the Poly CL and the BWI CL and I have a question. I know we are not allowed to tip, but I have made embroider mug rugs with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas themes. Would these be silly to give as Thank you's?

You are most thoughtful; however, we prefer to discretely hand small Federal Reserve Notes with President Andrew Jackson's image on them to the hard working food service CMs, who find them useful. ;)

All the best. :thumbsup2

I thought we could not do that for the CL staff? I am not taking Mousekeeping or servers, just the CL staff?

You are correct; however, what we do may not coincide with suggested WDW policy. ;)

There are certain food service CMs (particularly the ones who clean up after those guests who leave their tables filled with glassware, tableware, napkins, unfinished food, etc.) who we "thank" on a regular basis.

All the best. :thumbsup2

then I will happily do both, I can hide the money gift inside the mug rug!

I've only given cash to mousekeepers, I've never attempted to give cash to club level CMs either at the desk or in the lounge because I was always told they could be terminated if caught accepting cash. Is this a new policy change?

If lounge CMs are allowed to accept cash I would definitely like to get the first page updated to reflect that information. :thumbsup2 However I can see where this could cause confusion because in many of the club levels the CMs crossover between working the desk and serving the lounge. Sometimes even both at the same time (especially at the BWI CL). So I'm not sure how a person would be able to distinguish who is strictly working with food service???

Anyone else experience this????

Teena just announced over on the YC/BC FAQ that the brand new freshly remodeled and expanded lounge at the Beach Club opens tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: She says it's huge!!!!!! :thumbsup2
