EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

We are doing our first CL visit April 9-12. The first five days we are at AKV (no CL left there) then we are doing WL-CL! SO,SO,SO excited!!! Any thoughts or advice on WL CL? I have heard mainly great things about it.

Congrats on your upcoming CL stay. Our first CL stay was at the WL and we absolutely loved everything about it. The food offerings are great, the lounge is nice and spread out with plenty of seating which overlooks the lobby, and the CL CMs are awesome. I'm sure you will love it. We have also stayed at AKL (although not CL) and we love both resorts for different reasons. Have a great trip :wizard:.

Thank You! We are looking forward to it!

We are thinking about adding a few nights at AKL CL during our August vacation. We've never stayed CL at AKL and I think the kids would love it. I'm somewhat confused though with the CL rooms/views. If I look on the WDW website, it seems as though all of the CL rooms have an Arusha Savanna view. Is this true? If so, I'm puzzled as to why there is very little, if any, price difference between the Arusha Savanna bunk bed rooms and Standard CL rooms. Thanks!

Are you looking at the prices with a discount? When we stayed at AKL club, it was only a few dollars more (like $31 or something like that) per night over the Arusha view rooms because they were giving a higher % discount on the Club rooms than the regular rooms. And yes, all AKL Club rooms (except the few DVC ones) are guaranteed Arusha view. The only thing you wouldn't be guaranteed is bunk beds. That's by request for Club, not a guarantee. If you don't need the bunks, I would scoop up the club room before it goes away!!

Just got a call from AKL CL IPO welcoming me for my upcoming trip and asking if I needed any help with anything. :goodvibes I have a feeling this is going to be a great vacation! Only 29 more days of waiting!!!!!!!! :cool2::cloud9:

32 days and we will be there with you :) So excited! I can't wait.

Thanks for your help! I was looking at rack rate on the Mousesavers chart. Hoping for an AP discount! Any idea what the AP discount might look like for CL at AKL late August? Can I hope for 35%?? That would be awesome :cool1:

We don't need bunkbeds, though it would be nice. Our kids are 6 and 3 and the 6 yr old loved the bunks on DCL!

Thank you, I have been reading the old thread.

I do have information for the AKL CL guests only for the booking of Sunrise Safari. It has changed to being paid in advance. I booked this and have heard from other CL guests who have booked it that they share the same experience. You still have a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Our stay at AKV-CL begins on 3/28, so excited!

Yes, it is available to CL guests staying at AKL and it was to be paid in advance. We loved it!!!

If you go, at least get the night time vision goggles checked out. Consider doing the night ride if you can - we didn't know about it until the day of check out and would have done it if we had known!

The bunk beds were great. Our kids are 12 and 7 and loved them. They room was pretty large, even with the bunks in the room.

I agree. Our boys are grown now, but we had bunk beds at the WL when they were younger and they loved them.

Hi everyone! I believe we are coming back to the world in late April. :-)
Had a question about Poly CL. I would want our room to be closest to the lounge. Is the food/drink lounge on the 2nd floor only? Are the rooms close by? Is there a certain room type that is closest to the lounge (gv, lv, tpv?) As you can tell, I am not that familiar.

We are going between the YC CL or Poly CL. We did stay BC CL in oct and were very pleased.

Thanks!

Has anyone done the photo session that IPO can help you book? I am interested but wondering if anyone has experience with it?

Thanks

The Hawaii building is a rectangle and the lounge is on the end. So rooms gradually get further and further away from the lounge as you walk down the hall. But even if you're down at the other end of the building its not a long walk at all. A minute maybe??? ... It's a very short walk. The food is on the 2nd floor, the 3rd floor offers additional seating, the 1st floor is where the CM's sit. I would focus more on which floor you want. We always request the 3rd floor because those rooms have balconies. The 2nd floor rooms do not. The 1st floor rooms have patios. :) It is an intimate feel, really like a family.

YC CL is great too, if you liked BC CL its almost exactly the same. They do have a larger lounge that has a better flow though, which is nice. :)

I personally haven't but members of our family have and the photos have turned out gorgeous! They are pricey but very professional! :)

My boys hate sleeping together, so I was going to request bunkbeds at AKL CL but my 14 year old is 6 feet tall. I wonder if he would be comfortable?

I'd advise against the room right outside the lounge. We had the TPV CL view that is right by the lounge with the door facing the hallway with the door to the lounge and the elevator. Our room was very noisy because people hung out by the elevators. Also, there was a family that all used ECVs and they all drove them to the lounge, but parked them outside the lounge. Our door was often so blocked by vehicles that we couldn't get in or out without weaving in and out of the scooters, EVCs and strollers.

Is it normal to not get turn down service if you are already in your room? We had an early evening and when I came back from getting a drink in the lounge, I saw them a couple of doors down, said hello and she saw me go into my room. About an hour later, I realized, she never came by. Its not the end of the world but some chocolates and new towels would have been nice. Maybe she thought we wanted privacy but we didn't put the sign out or anything, just thought this was weird.

I have noticed people requesting certain rooms/locations....who do you contact to make your request, and how far out?
We will be staying CL at the Poly in August, and would like a 3rd floor room also....
Do we e-mail the concierge?

Thanks in advance...

The lounge is actually 2 floors-2nd and 3rd--but the food and drink is only on the 2nd.
We stayed CL Theme Park View for the last 4 trips. I always request room 2501. It is right outside of the lounge. We've never had a problem with noise from the lounge or elevator. That room just makes it so convenient for my family! We stop in the lounge and can bring things back to the room so easily. I see that some people do not care for that particular room. Maybe that's why I've always gotten my request of that room! :lovestruc

That might be a dilemma :rolleyes1. Our boys are the same way about sleeping together, but it's also harder now that they are older (18 & 20) and our oldest is almost 6' tall. I know it would be hard for my oldest to sleep on a bunk bed now as they are twin size, but if it was that or sleeping with his brother, he would probably opt for the bunk :rotfl::rotfl:.

Good question. We've never been in the room when we've gotten turn down, but my guess is they might pass you by if you are there as they might not want to disturb you :confused3.

I always make requests when I book, but they can be made anytime :). If I were you, I'd maybe call and have your requests added now, but also email IPO and let them know as well as it can't hurt.
