EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

We personally find the CL/DP combo to be too much food, so we dropped the DP in our last two trips and LOVE not having it. We use TiW for great savings and just load up money on gift cards before we leave, so it's like everything is pre-paid. :goodvibes

Help me MM. There is no YC GV standard for my stay. They have YC WV but that could be first floor quiet pool for all I know...SOOOO I was disgruntled with my BC CL GV stay and after many years staying CL I was fine last summer without it however my booking category isn't available now so it is either YC WV or YC GV CL. Do you think 130 per night is crazy to pay for CL over say a garden view room. I may hold out hope hoping a GV opens up standard...What do you think? Pro - love 5th floor. love ease of breakfast in morning. There are a few nights we are there when we have a big lunch and I do rely on dinner there b/c just not hungry enough to eat something big....BUT........other than that am struggling with price diff....

This is pretty tough. You know as well as I do about the pros/cons of CL. I have said that I could probably do without CL at the YC if we stayed there again, but then the whole factor of breakfast comes in. Having CL breakfast available at the Epcot resorts is so nice w/the limited regular options.

Is there a discount available during your time period? One that would bring the difference down a bit?

Also, I have to say that our YC CL experience was lovely, our biggest disappointment was the evening app choices as they all seemed the same, but my understanding is that they are currently revamping the BC/YC CL offerings and from what I see there is more variety, and I would want to try it again....:rolleyes1

I am not helping am I? :rotfl:

Hi am considering YC CL this summer. Have stayed every year CL except last and we actually didn't miss it too much last summer! Due to availability during my stay it is either YC CL GV or YC LV. so am thinking of club again this summer.

Anyone stay recently? How was the food? For some reason I thought the menu was changing over again or am I wrong> thanks!

We have stayed YC CL in May and non CL in Sept. I honestly did not miss the Club level. The only reason I stay CL at YC is because LV and CL is usually all that is available with a discount. We lucked out in Sept and got GV room so it saved us some money. The food choices have been the same over the last 3 years. I think if they made changes that would be a good thing.

I'm finally back!! :) After 6 beautiful days in sunny San Diego I am in denial that I'm actually home to the snow and cold. The only thing to bring me out of my slump was to finally go ahead and book our spring break trip to WDW! :cool1: I had been hoping and praying YC CL would open up, but that just isn't going to happen. :sad2: But that's OK, I put on my big girl panties and went ahead and booked AKL CL instead! :thumbsup2 We haven't stayed there in a long time, so I'm excited to go back! Also it gives me a great chance to stock up on lots of AKL CL pictures for this thread!

I will go back through and read all the additions I missed and get things updated here as fast as I can. :wave2: My new job as a travel agent is great but I'm sooooo not use to balancing my time during the day when the kids are at school. I feel like I have ZERO time for housework and chores, OH DARN! :laundy: :rotfl:

I'm new here, but we stayed Club Level at the Wilderness Lodge last April and LOVED it!!! We're going back in May to stay CL again. It was Fantastic and I can't imagine staying in a standard room ever again!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. The staff was amazing! My kids (ages 10 and 6) loved having the lounge and it was so great having breakfast every morning and then beverages and snacks when we came back from the parks. If they didn't have something in the lounge we just had to ask and they would get it for us! The attention we received was beyond our expectations and more!
I wish I had taken more photos of the food because it was all so good!

I don't have the photos on my computer, but will post a link shortly.

My kids love CL too. :goodvibes The first thing they ask when I say we're going to WDW is "Are we staying concierge???" :rotfl: We rarely ever say club level even though I know that's typically what people say these days. ;)

Posted this on GF thread, but relevant here too!

HUGE shout out to the GF IPO!!!!! As you know, I was worried about handing over my reservations to them as I am too much of a control freak. ADR day is today and woke up to find I got all of my reservations, including 'Ohana and Be Our guest and opening at crystal Palace...all for the exact times I asked for!!!! :cool1:

GF IPO rocks!!!! :dance3:

I love it when that happens :) :thumbsup2

Haven't been since 2009 and wondering if some of the items we loved are still there...

like

the alcoholic punch (forget the name)
pineapple and caramel
sushi
mini pork sliders

anyone know if the offerings have gone down since 2009? just wondering what to expect.

thanks

We were at Poly CL this past August and they definitely still had the punch and the sushi night. :) And definitely still the pineapple with caramel too! :goodvibes I can't remember if we had a pork slider, I will go back and read my trip report and see if I can find those. :D

This thread is AWESOME!! :goodvibes My family loves club level...the only problem is we never want to leave the lounge or miss any of the food when we're staying club! ;)

I recently did a blog post about the King Kamehameha Club and have a few photos of the small lounge in the Tonga building...

They have snacks and drinks out here in the afternoon, similar to the afternoon snacks in the Hawaii lounge.

These pics are from summer 2012 - I know the Hawaii building got a refurb since then, I'm not sure if Tonga did!

And since I've just been starting the AKL club level part of my trip report, here are a few shots of the Kilimanjaro Club...

After reading this thread I am SERIOUSLY missing those muffins.

GREAT pics!!!! :thumbsup2 Thank you so much for sharing them! And guess what?? I LOVE CUPCAKES TOO!!! ::yes::::yes::::yes::::yes::

I have three rooms reserved at CR March 8-13. Two of the rooms are Atrium CL the other is standard room(I think Bay Lake View). I have tried numerous times to get the third room changed to CL but nothing is available! Any suggestions? What are the odds we could upgrade at check in? Grasping at straws here:/

Are you checking rack rate or a discounted rate? If it is totally booked even at rack rate I would be worried. Typically your chances of upgrading at check-in aren't going to be very good if there's no availability. I would keep calling over and over until something pops up. Especially at the 45 day mark when package people tend to cancel. And again at the 6 day mark when room-only people tend to cancel. GOOD LUCK! :goodvibes

If you followed my trip report at YC CL last summer you might remember my nightmare with YC GV CL. Apparently there aren't very many of those rooms, because we arrived early afternoon and they were already gone. Which put us down on a lower floor. After waiting a couple of days we got moved upstairs to a water view and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Normally I don't care too much about the view but this one was worth every penny! :goodvibes

I agree the CM's at the WL CL were awesome especially the one guy. Oh man I forgot his name. HE went out of the way saying hi to my daughter (who was 2) each day when leaving for the park. He heard her mention ketchup the one day while eating lunch upstairs that we bought downstairs and 5 mins later he snuck up on her with it. Great great guy! Even noticed her in the lobby one day and stopped to ask her how the day was. He knew it was her too. Very cool of him. It was a great great trip.

Our first ever CL stay was also WL CL. It was amazing and magical!!!! pixiedust:

:wave2:

We were there in April. The offerings were decent. My one complaint is that they were all just fried something or others every night. That was a disappointment after the very variable options in WL CL (like chili, meatballs, chicken wings, etc...). But we had a really nice stay. We booked a SV CL room but were upgraded to LV! :woohoo:

I totally agree, we skipped the hot appetizers most nights because it was literally the same fried thing, even multiple days in a row. But for us it really wasn't an issue because we mostly use the lounge for breakfast and snacks.

I love YC CL. :thumbsup2 We did notice the food was pretty boring last summer, compared to the past years when we had things like lobster salad ::yes:: , but the lounge itself is nice, the CMs are great, and you still get all the drinks and snacks, breakfast, etc. I wouldn't count on anything too exciting when it comes to evening hot apps.

This thread makes me want to stay CL one day, preferably WL, AKL, CR or BC.

We really enjoyed the Dining Plan last time. I guess CL and the regular DP would be too much food, right?

I like food to be prepaid, that is what makes CL and DP so interesting for me.
the IPO service would be a nice service as well

but not this year ;);)
too far away to go to WDW every year

I think CL goes fine with the regular dining plan. But it would be way overkill on deluxe dining. I would use the lounge for breakfast, my counter service credit for lunch in the park, back to the lounge for afternoon snacks and/or apps at 5:00, then a nice sitdown dinner around 7:30 PM. :goodvibes

Mousemommy1,
I remember in one of your other posts that this YC CL LV room had two queen beds and a daybed. Do you remember the # and did the room have a good view of Stormalong Bay? My family is hoping to get one of the few LV CL rooms with the daybed!

We had LV CL with 2 queens and a daybed, but our room was over the back entrance looking towards the Boardwalk. In order to get a SAB view you'll have to be down the hallway quite a long way, definitely a further walk for the lounge. Our room was only about 5 or 6 doors down from the lounge which worked great for our kids. :D My report with pictures should be on page 1 :thumbsup2
