Experiences with AAA auto buying service or financing?

I'm in the market for a new-to-us (used) Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander and was wondering whether anyone here has used the auto buying service AAA offers or has financed through them.

I don't have specific questions but am wondering whether AAA is a good resource. Please share any experiences you've had with them.

Don't forget that Costco also provides car buying services, but not sure if they handle used cars.

AAA car buying is powered by TrueCar. I did look into TrueCar a bit when I was buying my car, and reviews are generally mixed. You are using a third party system, that also needs to be paid, so you can often do just as good, if not better, on your own without involving a third party that eats up some of the profit.
