You CAN do the whole cruise and not pay and extra penny but...as already stated there are enhanced experiences and activities that cost extra. We have done cruises and the only extra money we spent was on souvenirs and room service tips. But our most recent cruises we have done the most basic island tours which are well worth it to see the island away from the cruise terminals.
So true
A family member of ours spend nothing extra on their cruises. They only pay the cost of the cruise and nothing more out of pocket. As they also pre pay their tips and budget that ahead of time.
Mostly due to the fact for them a family 6
DCL is a big stretch money wise
As DCL requires them to have 2 staterooms due to the overall number of people
They both work 2nd jobs just to get the money to pay for DCL
If your on a budget or don't want to pay anything more than your cruise fair. It's 100% possible and many people do it
The tip we have is why not book your cruise with a Disney authorised
travel agent.
They offer onboard credits for booking with them. The price of the cruise is the same as if you book direct with Disney. But you get the onboard credits or free money.
Depending on the room cat you book...you can get some really great credits from your ta
And you can use them for anything on the ship drinks, excursions, spa etc
Or you can pay your tips with the credit.
If your looking for a travel agent we highly recommend
Dreams Unlimited Travel

And you can easily do any of those same extra up sells on the cruise...That you might have not done without the onboard credit
