thinking of getting BWV this way (rather than SSR through DVC). can anyone share your experience with the timeshare store? reputable...i.e. safety in sending money in/contracts? how does the process work? how long does it take? i checked out their website, but am hoping for some candid thoughts...pros and cons.
thanks!

We have worked with Pat Spell at The Timeshare Store on three DVC resale purchases and all were positive experiences.

For each one, total time from first contact to closing was about a month and we were in the DVC computer and bale to make a reservation within a week after closing.

You should call them and let them know what you are looking for- as some listings never make the website. They can let you know when something comes in that fits your needs.

The Timeshare Store is also the sponsor of our DVC Forum for years now and has helped many on this site.

Enjoy!

We also used Pat for our VWL add on and was very pleased that all paperwork was handeled for both us and buyer in the normal time frame expected. No complaints here.

:D

We just closed our resale purchase through the Timeshare Store -- and are now anxiously awaiting formal notice to be sent to Disney so we can book our very first DVC stay this summer. Our contract was signed on December 12th, DVC waived ROFR on December 23rd, and closing documents were delivered to us on January 12th.

Jerry has been prompt, courteous, and helpful each and every time I have spoken to him. All of the paperwork has been very straightforward and the instructions have been easy to follow.

Count us as happy customers -- although we will be much happier when we have that member handbook and password in-hand.

Good luck in your search!

I also used Pat Spell at the Timeshare Store for my BWV resale this past summer. Every thing was handled efficiently and went through without any problems. As it happens, when I called about a listing on their web site it was gone. But Pat found a new listing that just came in while I was on the phone with her. She was very helpful and able to give me a good run down about the DVC program.

Of course the Dis has been the advance course on DVC! Good luck with your decision regarding purchase of DVC!:)

We've used the Timeshare Store for 3 add-ons with great reaults. Pat Spell was the agent for the last one. We've also used Shontell at DVC by resale. Shontell use to be at the Timeshare store but went out on her own. She continues to give great service.

I purchased one resale with Pat. I had to initiate all contact after the original offer; she commented every time I called on how busy their office is. The deal was handled efficiently.

We bought a BWV resale last summer with Pat from the Timeshare Store. It was really easy. I would use Pat again.

I'm using Pat Spell now to buy my 100 VWL points. It's gone very smooth so far. She was also able to hook me up with a financing firm for a great rate! Would definately use her again when I add on more points!:wave2:

From a seller's point of view(long story) it was a good transaction. No problems and went quite smooth. Jerry found me a buyer, within a week it was sold. I once called to buy with them and they called me twice in a short period of time with 2 deals that were close to what I wanted. Ended up going thru Disney for our 7 buy transactions but would not hesitate to use them again, either to buy or sell. Our add-ons were always the result of needed points right then and there and placed a reservation within hours of calling with an add-on purchase. You can't do that with resale, you have to wait for closing. If not for the urgency, resale is really the way to go.

Deal with Pat. We found Jerry very helpful, but no to us, only to the seller. Disney had scooped up our contract and more than two weeks later Jerry was content to shurg his sholders and tell us nothing. It wasnt until I called and got Pat on the phone that she was able to find out we'd lost the contract two weeks before.

And on the whole it went smoothly. Our only negative was that we always had to be the ones initiating any contact. I didn't like the " if you don't hear from us assume it is going thru" attitude. No matter how busy they may be, keeping in touch with Buyer & Seller is all part of the job.
That said, we will look to Pat first when it comes time for an add-on.

We too worked with Pat last year on our purchase. We were first-time buyers and had lots of questions, and she did a fantastic job of explaining everything to us. She gave us some good solid advice and in the end let us make our own decisions. I've recommended them to relatives who are also interested in purchasing DVC, and we'll turn to them again in the future.

We used Pat Spell this December to purchase 200 points as VWL. Everything went extremely well. I have no complaints at all. She even sent us a nice card to thank us for our business. I did feel that she was very busy, but I never felt neglected.

I had done a lot of research, so I thought I really knew what I was doing. Pat was still able to offer some good insights and help me make some good decisions.
